Miles for Congress

Day 4,077, 23:10 Published in Czech Republic Czech Republic by milestailsprower

Citizens and old friends,

It's definitely been a long while since I've played this game, but now I want to get back into the swing of things.

Let me (re)-introduce myself. I'm an American, who initially started this game as a US citizen, but in search of greener pastures, went to Slovakia to get a closer hands on taste for government work. My best work there was as an ambassador to the USA and Canada, and securing MPPs with them to ensure protection from imminent Hungarian intervention. Since then, I went on to oversee congressional work in the briefly unified Czechoslovak government, and became active in Czech politics for most of the time afterwards. I've served in most positions of the cabinet (e.g. Minister of Defense, Vice President, etc.) and served multiple times as the Czech president and dictator. I've also briefly held office as a Canadian and Russian congressman.

You might say, "ah, simpler times when I ruled!" But I say, I had no hands to drink that beer...

During the later part of my time in this game, I wasn't as active, and it showed. I faced backlash for my inactivity while in office, and regrettably, the more time passed, the more I grew busy with school and other priorities. I also lost interest as I burned out on the game after several years. My ability to write or speak Czech is essentially non-existent as well, which has usually never been a problem, but perhaps made me more impersonal to some.

lmao this stock photo is pretty funny not gonna lie

Nonetheless, I come back to fray. The old fox comes back for the duties of the lion. I am, if nothing else, experienced, but willing to keep things relaxed and fun. Allow me the pleasure of serving the state yet again. I am running for Congress, but wish to take a more active role in helping out with the government again.

Modest Starting Goals:
--Start up a Discord for the Czech government.
When I first played this game, people were still mainly using internet relay chat, known as IRC, to organize things. It was already fairly outdated even back then. Skype is also not as preferable these days to Discord for a variety of reasons, and newer, younger people wouldn't choose it as their first choice of communication.

Discord also has a great way of organizing channels and private rooms for conversation all on one server, so it's very easy to centralize government activity on that platform, and I'd love to help organize and build it.

--Assess our foreign relations for new possibilities.
My basic understanding right now is that we have an MPP with Serbia and a training war with Poland. Beyond that, there is not too much that we are involved with. The most pressing thing for me to learn right now is what all the alliances are like in the world, so I am looking forward to collaborating with other members of government to figure this out, and I am also willing to reach out to foreign government officials to ask direct questions about who they are working with or against, if we need a better picture of the world around us.

--Think of a fun contest.
I don't know when the last time you all had a fun contest for new players or for the population in general, but we should have one! I like fun activities! *You probably like fun activities! It's a win-win.

I know Red Duck mentioned to me some other ideas he has floating around that he wants to do. We've got a lot of room to grow and make things a bit lively in this place again, so let's give it our best. I will be running under the Czech Right Union (CRU), so throw a vote our way on election day!

Best,
Milos

*If you do not like fun activities, you are probably a filthy PTOer.
