Let's Fill eRep with Art, Part 2

Day 2,268, 19:10 Published in Ireland Ireland by Paddy OBrien

I saw an interesting article by Homer J Simpson in his paper The Muppet Show He had the idea of bringing art into the eworld and brightening people's day, as well as introducing artists to our world.

Following is his introduction and explanation of the idea: The way this works is you comment and I give you an artist. You then publish an article with this explanation and an example of the given artist's work. You then do the same for people who comment on yours.

His artist and work was Alice Springs Country c1955, by Albert Namatijira.

I commented on his article and received Sir Mathias Kauage as my artist. I wrote an article on him that can be found here. I then commented on Anthony Colby's article and was assigned Fairfield Porter. The artwork I have chosen from this artist is titled Anne in a Striped Dress.

Fairfield Porter lived in the United States. He was born in 1907 and died in 1975. After his death, his estate transferred about 250 of his works to the Parrish Art Museum. His works are displayed in many other art collections, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Porter said once, "When I paint, I think that what would satisfy me is to express what Bonnard said Renoir told him: make everything more beautiful."

I hope you will take a moment to explore this artist and his work.
