Issue #2: 10 Questions for We The People Party President

Day 2,506, 08:27 Published in USA USA by Mike Milton

Hello America,

As I said in pervious issue most of time in this newspaper we will be interviewing important people so here is another one. This time I had the pleasure of speaking to another party president, MrCarey president of We The People party.

Hi MrCarey, tell about yourself?

Hello! So I'm the Party President of We The People, and my main focus in eRepublik is politics. I try to get involved with programs where I can make an impact and/or educate others.

What led up to becoming the party president?

Well I've only been back in the game for two months now, and to be honest, it came as quite a surprise to be nominated as PP, and then make it all the way through the process and become the PP. If I was to guess what led to me being nominated by my fellow party people and then voted into office would probably be my hard work and dedication within the party.

I noticed that you had other positions in politic, can you tell me what were those positions? And please tell me about your experiences.

I was a congressman last term and was elected again this term. I'm also a deputy in the White House Press Release Media Department as well. When I came back into eRepublik and joined We The People, I entered into the Media department as a deputy for two terms and published papers for the party. So far I've enjoyed every position I've had in politics.

If you hadn't become a party president, what might you have done?

I'd probably still be in congress and probably writing in the Media Department for WTP. As for anything else, it's hard to say.

Tell me about your party and your cabinet.

We The People is currently the 3rd largest party in eUSA. We focus on representing the individual. My cabinet is awesome to be honest. It was a thought out cabinet that even since the beginning of my term has been tweaked a bit to achieve optimal efficiency. I have been extremely proud of what we've accomplished as a team so far in my PP term.

As the party president what are your goals? And what do you hope to achieve in Congress under the banner of We The People?

My goals as PP are communication, efficiency, and progress. So far, I've been releasing weekly newsletters to all party members informing them of what's going on within the party (communication). I've also cleaned up our Party Cabinet Positions as some of the positions were redundant and I felt were un-needed or could be handled by the PP and VPP (efficiency). We've also overhauled our Feed The World (FTW program and turned it into Whalefare (progress). So, it's going pretty well so far. As far as my time in congress, I strive to represent our party in a positive light and bring about any concerns my party might have that should be addressed by congress.

If you don’t mind talk about your RL a little.

Sure thing. I'm 27 and live in the middle of nowhere in New York. I'm married and have 2 dogs, 3 cats, 2 turtles, and a snake. I'm currently in the process of buying a house, and for RL work, I'm a draftsman for a company that builds sheds and garages. In my free time I play video games and a tabletop war game called Warmachine.

How did you get into erepublik?

Honestly, I don't remember. It was in November of 2009, so that's too long ago for me to remember how I stumbled upon it, haha.

How did you come up with your nickname? What’s that mean?

Well my name is Mike Carey, and when I began the game I figured I'd shoot for politics, so I wanted a professional sounding nickname, so I just went with MrCarey.

Do you have anything to say to our readers?

one thing I cannot stress enough is that you don't have to be a "titan" or "elite" to obtain respectable positions in government. Like I said before, I came back to this game after a 2 year absence, and within two months, through dedication and hard work, I'm now a PP for a top 5 party. If there's something you want to achieve, you need to work hard to get it. Other than food, tanks, and sometimes gold, nothing is just handed to you here - you have to work for it.

Thank you so much for the interview MrCarey, and thank you all for reading and supporting our paper. See you in next issue.
