Introduction & Bettering eUSAs Education
Mentouras
Please allow me to introduce myself. I'm Mentouras, a regular gamer. I actually saw eRepublik for the first time several years ago, but I thought nothing of it and passed it off as yet another "Pay-to-Play" game. Why did I think this?
I dunno.
Well a few days ago I once again heard of this game. Hearing a lot of good stuff about it I decided to give it a whirl. So here I am.
Now I'm not going to claim to be a good writer.. Or in English anyways. English is my secondary language so I hope you can excuse grammatical and spelling errors. If I write something that is incorrect please tell me and I can check my facts and the way I wrote it. As I write, I will gain more skill with English grammar I hope.
Enough talking! Let's get to my article/suggestion.
Bettering eUSAs Education:
I am a new player to eRepublik and may be missing some links and information. If anything I suggest in this article is already in use please tell me and I'll make appropriate edits.
As a new player I can say that this game looks to have lots of potential and to be very fun. There is the problem, however, with the amount of information stuffed in our faces. When I first joined I received a letter from the CP (Which I assume is prewritten and sent to all new players) that contained links to forms that I could fill out to get stuff such as food. I love that the eUSA government does this but I think that there would be a greater advantage if instead of just providing links to get free stuff it also provided a link that brought you to a document containing all the information you need on eRepublik - Or at least all the beginning information and commonly used terms. Sort of like a Wiki, except this would actually remain updated so it's reliable (*Cough cough* Update the Wiki! *cough cough
😉.
The link doesn't have to bring you to an outside document like Google Docs, but even an article such as this written by the DoE which would be located in First steps in eRepublik (I didn't find anything helpful in there). This would have the benefits of better educating new players in eUSA. In the long run, this could provide an advantage over other eCountries since we our players would then know how to play this game. I imagine this would also reduce the number of new players that quit in the first few days.
This may already have been done and I may have missed a link somewhere, in which case tell me. Otherwise, I do not understand why this hasn't been done. Sure, there is a time commitment to writing and updating an article, but the long term benefits are sure to be worth it.
Just a suggestion. Hopefully it goes somewhere though.

Post-Edit Notes:
For new players, I found it! The Department of Education (DoE) does have a site where they give some guides, it's just not included in the welcome letter. You have to ask for it. Yea, it's not part of the letter. Click me to go to the site!

I've been saying it for so long I lost track. New players don't start playing a game to fill out forms for free stuff. They sign up to play a game. After a little while when they learn their way around, they will understand the necessity for all the free stuff. But don't listen to me, I am just a crazy old guy, right?
Crazy man! 😛
No what hit me was when I looked at the First steps in eRepublik and it was filled with..
Problems with congress!?!
I fail to understand both most of the documents in there and why they are there. Shouldn't first steps in eRepublik be filled with documents containing terminology? And why is the DoE giving out free stuff? Shouldn't that be the Department of Labor giving out free stuff as a reward for working(I don't think there's such a thing, but you get the point.)?
I don't know, just my opinion. Just very overwhelming all the information we are expected to know off the bat. I'll figure it out eventually.

Apparently the voice of dissent is not welcomed here. I'm sorry I wasted the last hour typing my response twice only to have it disappear both times.

What are all these CSRF attacks? WTF does that mean? If this site isn't even safe why the hell would I even consider a third party site?
Mentouras, you exactly correct. There is no reason for you to click on websites that redirect you away from erepublik.com. The only reason i can see to join any group at all is to get my daily bazooka and candy bar. I tried joining a few different groups but was repulsed by their behavior. For example, imagine a man for whom you have any modicum of respect. Would he walk around saying, "BAAAA," as if it were something to be proud of? I can't even remember the other groups slogan but it was almost as stupid and annoying. Regardless of what they stand for, I couldn't possibly be part of that. These people want you to lick their boots for five consecutive days (yea, right) before they will "give you" supplies. I have been here less than a year and although I am not very strong compared to a VISA card, I supply myself enough to fight every day without begging or even going to some BS websites that are not part of the game. If I need supplies I buy them myself from the in-game market. Why exactly do I pay so much in taxes again?
What the hell is wrong with "Baaaaaaa" ?
Were The Black Sheep. All Sheep, no matter Bighorn Sheep, Domestic Sheep, or Snow Sheep, they all Baaaaa.
Our alternative slogan is "Ovis"

May as well just train the sheep to say, "Syphilissssssssssssssss." It wouldn't be any more ridiculous and pathetic than you appear now.
Train? What a kill joy. You're taking this pretty seriously. If I am coming off as stupid, you're coming off ignorantly crazy. Eat a Snickers.
Thanks Leonard.. I don't understand the "BAAA" reference, but Arrden obviously does. I'll let you two figure that out.
Oh hey look what I foun😛

Why wasn't this included in the welcome letter? I had to specifically ask if there was a location with information such as this..
