How We Will be Great Again
Israel Stevens
As I announced a few days ago, I have applied to the position of Party President of the American Military Party.
This is not something that I take lightly, and I am not seeking to pad my resume. It is long enough as it is. Turning this party around is something that is important to me, and while I may not have my entire plan worked out just yet there are some specific problems that I want to see addressed.
I would also like to add, that posting a cabinet isn’t important to me. You shouldn’t be voting for who will be running the party, you should be voting for how they will be running the party.
Party Activity
As has been noted elsewhere, the AMP does not suffer from a lack of an active leadership. But anyone that has stopped by #AMP on IRC, has surely noted the sheer amount of crickets. It is a dead IRC channel.
One of the ways that I aim to correct this, is to push more of the friendly banter found in our leadership channels, out into the public eye. There is nothing secretive about saying hello to each other, and no reason that sort of conversation can’t be held in our public channel. It can be incredibly daunting as a new player to sit in an IRC room and have no one talk. Even when you have questions, or need help. A room that is full of people chatting about anything will do wonders for our ability to retain new citizens who want to start their political careers with us.
It is vital that we change the mentality of the party. This can’t be something that dies after I leave. It must be ingrained upon any and all who wish to lead us.
In that same vein, is forum activity.
Anyone that has stopped by the AMP Forums have noted that it is no exaggeration to say that there are 10 active users. For the July Country President Primary we had 11 votes. That is unacceptable to me, and it should be unacceptable to anyone that cares about the party.
I will do everything in my power to make our forums a place where everything from intelligent discussions, polls and forum games can be found. If a player needs help traversing the complexities of eRepublik, they will be able to find help on our forums. If a new player wants opinions on something away from the caustic environment of the eUS Forums, then they will have that place as well.
My staff and I will work hard to turn around the image and activity of our forums.
There will be significantly more votes in our next PotUS Primary. I promise.
Legal Councils vs Recruitment & Retention
I mentioned in my first article, how the party leadership continues to work on ideas like a Legal Council. My chief competitor even lists it first in his article.
Creating a Legal Council, and continuously tweaking our constitution is the most absurd thing we could possibly doing at a time like this. It is nothing short of a massive political party circlejerk.
It accomplishes nothing. The other parties literally laugh at us for it. We need a massive recruiting push, not tweaking internal policies.
Under my leadership, every single new American citizen will receive a message from the AMP. This is the largest part of my recruitment strategy, but it is not the entirety. AMP Media, as well as other targeted recruiting will also be taking place.
I have a long history of training the next set of AMP leaders, and this month will be no different. AMP Party Presidents Cleveland Fleman, John Killah, Jack Mensely and potato134 all got their start from me. The next generation of leaders will also be getting their start under me.
The recruitment, retention and education of members is our single most important job as a party. And I will make it a top priority.
There will be more to the rebuilding of our party. Activity and recruitment do not make for a powerful, nationally recognized party. But these are the first steps, and in many ways they are the most important steps.
We will be great again. And this is how we are going to start.
I do not have my team finalized. And I know that I cannot do this alone. If you want to join me in rebuilding this party, then send me a message and tell me you want to help.

Don't become another Zombie party...
Alas, I fear I may be too late and you're just beating a dead horse.
I sure hope not.
With 10 votes during a unity primary the first goal should be to motivate your current membership to participate; doubly so after AMP's recent PTO one month prior to this latest occupation.
From a t6 perspective a massive recruiting effort seems to be a tertiary concern by comparison at this juncture of eAmerican affairs.
Irrespective of the path chosen the Tech's wish the AMP well, as they have from AMP's inception.
Israel 4 PP
It's a long road to the top if you wanna rock & rolllllllllll

The game is fun because of people like you who despite failures keep trying very hard to maintain standards. Respect for you Stevens.
good luck IS.
Get more life and vigour into all around you, mate.
GL! 🙂

Wish you the best of luck, AMP was my home for a long time.

I'm still saving you a seat!
Good luck with your run for PP, as a dedicated citizen I know you can turn the AMP around....
good luck
Don't get discouraged on your road to a renewed greatness. Best of luck from a Fed.

I believe in Israel. Bring back AMP.
11 votes...wow....I guess I didn't realize how bad things had gotten in AMP. Best of luck rebuilding.
Good luck Israel.
I'm a former AMP congressman.
Things went well under IS.
After he left, things slid. Once, the wrong slate for congress was submitted by mistake. Just the PP and some underling miscommunicating.
It created a tradition.
The next "oops" congressional slate was deliberately submitted by AMP PP and Serbian spai Free Area, full of traitors. Feel the "AMPS", indeed.
This caused the AMP to be not only a national joke, but a real threat to national security.
You have a lot of work to do, IS. I admire your abilities, but don't envy the challenge you've selected.
Good luck, old friend.
Good luck!
You picked out the very issues I had the first time I visited the forum and the IRC.
What a different vibe an individual brings to the table when they care. Good luck.
Inspiring article. ❤
"There is nothing secretive about saying hello to each other, and no reason that sort of conversation can’t be held in our public channel."
This is the first time I've heard a leader actually say this. It's spot on. Elitism does nothing but run off new folks (and a few old folks, like myself, even), so it's refreshing to find this article. Voted.
