You've probably run into one of them by now...

They look like this:

or this:

They are the Grumpy Old Men of eRepublik.

Don't listen to them.

These crusty cantankerous coots like to complain all the time about how much better the game used to be.

Well they're wrong.

So this article is dedicated to the new players out there.

You've come into this game at a great time. The game that those curmudgeonly cranks clamor about doesn't hold a candle to the eRepublik you've joined.

That game:
*took like 4 weeks to get your citizen up to an acceptable playing level,
*didn't allow you to work as Manager of your own company
*didn't give you ANY companies for free when you started
*had no missions
*no bazookas
*no toolboxes
*made you jockey your inventory around in these stupid boxes just to avoid losing it by accident
*only really let you click fight maybe 5 times a day
*and the battles lasted all day long... one... long... battle...
*which would crash in the last 2 minutes because everyone was clicking at once
*made you publish for months before you could crack a paper into the charts
*forced you to quit your job and leave your political party if you wanted to deploy overseas
*had no Citizen Feeds with their wacky comments threads
*had no loyalty points
*gave you back around $50 for 1 Gold which didn't buy much
*crashed multiple times most days
*required you to have nearly 100 health to work lest you get fired
*and took forever before you could join a Political Party.

True, orgs were cool, but the citizen ads that the Grumpy Old Men keep rhapsodizing atonally about were actually rife with exploits and soft porn... Citizen Feeds is better.

Nope, this game is far superior. With some half decent Mentoring, a new player can set himself up very quickly, avoid some very common (and costly) mistakes, and without any money invested be on the path to enjoying a social strategy game that remains unparalleled in the browser game market.

Which is why the Federalist Party has started the Federalist ECadamy.

Because everyone can benefit from a good FEDucation.

If you are a newer player and want to benefit from the collective wisdom of some players who have been around a while and don't hate this game, simply mention in the comments below (or drop me a PM) saying that you are interested in enrolling in the Federalist ECadamy. You don't have to be a Federalist to enroll.

This program has been three weeks in the planning and has now launched with great reviews from our first class.

And if you find yourself surrounded by Grumpy Old Men who just want to tell you how lousy this game is and how much better V1 (or V2) was and how you should be playing this or that other game... First tell them to shut the hell up, then leave their company and join the Federalist Party. We actually have fun playing this game.
