Funky Hum24n for Congress

Day 1,853, 21:42 Published in Canada Canada by Funky 24

My programme is simple, burned into my mind and supported by the fact that I have the greatest party in eRepublik by my side. This long playing eRepublik and it can come as a surprise that only for 7 terms have I been a Congressman, each time for the CPF and from the Newfoundland and Labrador region.

I think, that, as a CPF member I view each module in this game as complimentary to one another and see no need to label any of them as the end to which we strive for. eRepublik has no final win for a player to achieve.

Rather, a player looks for influence. A political party's best use of its collective energy is to help him or her in this quest for influence. A party has to believe in politics to do so. The CPF does. The CPF in fact has always recognized, no matter where it has strayed, that as a party, it is an empowering political device, a social network, a military strategist, an individual's best friend for staking out a name and a community leader for generating new ideas, having a solid ideology as a foundation.

I know my personal goals for this game wouldn't be possible without a party such as the CPF, that has a set of principles to offer the guide for how to approach any new challenge, a progressive vision for looking beyond just reacting to challenges and to provide a voice of scrutiny for any solution offered, even if we are the largest party.

Taxes for example can easily fall victim to a populist elite every new Congress. Protect our business! More funding for our MUs! More/Less burden on the 2-clickers! As a Congressman for example, I might consider making sure that we have the cheapest goods on the market as possible a priority, where low import taxes coupled with low income taxes, help retain our non-slave pit workforce with generous wages and cheap products that our MUs can also purchase. A moderate VAT could make up our revenue in supplementing basic MU funding, with savings kept for important battles an perhaps one day again, individual handouts and individual land funding.

How our money is moved around is probably one of the most annoying things to keep track of, especially as someone who has never been in the dreaded Executive. Adding more people to handle transfers has only increased risk and our staple for always seemingly having a lack of published records for the public is a constant drag on accountability and public understanding that forum and IRC users have always ignored.

I don't want to ramble on for any longer, so I'll conclude by saying only a few more things. One of my duties will be to scrutinize the performance of my party and the other parties. Only through direct observation and comparison can the CPF improve and put away the competition. I don't seek consensus, only moral fortitude and getting good results for party and country. If I wanted to play this game for myself rather than others, I would probably be some MU hermit, been a CP by now or have 14 terms as Congressman. Egh.

Instead, I became the underdog carrying the banner for a downed party, and emerged as the something else that I intend to use.
