From the Desk of the Secretary of State

Day 753, 23:06 Published in USA USA by Bradley Reala

Inside the Department of State

So I held off on writing this article for a bit, but I've finally had a moment to breathe. As a lot of people know, after reading this article, I'm the new Dep...er...Secretary of State. Trust me, this was as big a surprise to me as it was to you. I really respect Cerb, he did a hell of a lot for the State Department, and I learned from him everything that allowed me to take over smoothly and successfully. Cerb was a great guy, but he needed some time for himself, and I respect that completely. Though admittedly surprising, the transition was smooth, and I'd like to personally thank Cerb for the work he put in.

When the current Secretary of State leaves, everyone tends to move up. I moved up to Secretary of State, while System0101 and Dodgercatcher became my two Deputy Secretaries of State. Indrae has become the Director of Ambassadorial Affairs, and Brent Abernathy has taken over the CTF. I have a lot of faith in this line up of guys to help me do what I need to do.

Japan

So now for the stuff we DoS guys live for. Foreign affairs! Japan is the big story. As I'm sure a few of you have heard there was a little battle there for Kyushu. Unfortunately the eUSA lost this battle, but in doing so, the President of Japan, Dokomo, issued an ultimatum to PHOENIX to leave China (except for Heilongjiang, colloquially known as Hello Kitty) or he would allow the eUSA to enter Kyushu unopposed. As of this writing no official answer has been given, but all signs point to PHOENIX's rejection of this message.

Now, to quickly dispel a rumor. Our attack on Japan did not "destroy all chances of a relation" like some would have you believe. In fact, after Kyushu I managed to sit down and have a very cordial chat with the Japanese MoFA, who is an awesome person to talk to, about our current relations. While Japan wasn't pleased at the attack, they definitely understood what we aimed to do, and really sympathized with our position and aim to free China. That sympathy for China obviously lead to the above mentioned ultimatum.

Ireland

In case you hadn't heard, there are war games with Ireland. Yay. I heard a lot of complaints about the Irish attacking Rhode Island when Greece had just attacked Turkey. What some people don't understand about the Irish war games is that they're on a schedule. We can't just cancel the games. Even if we could, what some people don't understand is that the Irish do need these games just as much as we do. You see, they don't have MPPs with half the world that allows them to fight in Greece, Croatia, or other areas. They need these games for wellness, so its only fair that we give them advance notice if we need to cancel the games for a little while. We simply couldn't give them that with the attack on Turkey, so we allowed them to open the battle, fight for six hours to get their wellness up, and then retreat. That allowed them to get wellness, and our citizens should not have wasted too many battles there (if they did, then they didn't listen to DoD Orders.)

Elsewhere

The eUK attacked us. That was funny. We retook our regions. They do that sometimes, it makes for a lulzy day. Also, Chile joined the war games. I was really happy they did, their President, Leanix, is a pretty awesome person, and given the choice to join Russia's wargames or ours, he chose ours. If you get the chance, go give Chile a big hug, they deserve it.

Join the State Department!

So, we're working on getting a massive effort together in order to really revamp the State Department, we need workers who are willing to do anything from update the spreadsheets, to organize, anything I tell them to do. 😉

If you'd like to help with the reorganization efforts PM me directly, but if you're looking to join an operation that's already pretty organized, you can join the CTF or become an ambassador.

To become an ambassador, go to the eUS forums, in this threa😛 Ambassador Application Thread
