Floundering around

I'm sort of new to eRepublik. Heard about it when playing another game, and thought I'd give it a try.

Thank heavens for friendly people here, because I have yet to find a good simple handbook for the game! So I'm learning the ropes, rather slowly in most areas, and making every mistake in the book... but I'm learning, that's the important thing.

What have I been doing since I started this game? Fighting. My husband is retired military, my previous gentleman friend had been military, I'm very active in a military-related non-profit. And I play a lot of wargames. So I guess fighting was my first instinct - besides, it was very easy to figure out what to do.

Now that I'm working my way through the ranks, I guess my next area to learn will be the political interactions between parties and countries.

Then again, maybe not. Blowing up the other guys' tanks and bazookas is a lot of fun, after all!
