Hello eBelgium,
I am Kordak, a politican from eNetherlands and founder of the United Netherlands Party (UNP). One of the main goals we have is to fight for the return of the United Netherlands. This article contains my personal view at this matter and gives a overview of all things we have to do to make this reunification possible, but I also write about the many challenges we will have to face. Those plans I offer here will only work if we first put aside all the dogmas and prejudices we might have. I admit it is a long article, but if you are interested it is definitely worth to read!
Since many of the citizens in eNetherlands and eBelgium wish to see the comeback of the United Netherlands, I decided to do some research. I have searched for some facts and will show them here. Also there will be a Poll which I will launch in both eNetherlands and eBelgium to see how many supporters there are.
What do we need to successfully reunite?
MoR
First thing to do is to create a Ministry of Reunification (MoR) in both countries. Citizens of eNetherlands could request this by filling in a form, after that the MoR will together make sure that those who are on the list will be accepted by eUNL (formerly known as eBelgium) congress.
Expansion and MPP ePoland
Since I am sure that ePoland wants to secure it's oil once and for all, we will make a deal with them. The merge will benifit both countries. ePoland will allow the eUNL to occupy Southern and Eastern Netherlands. (Alternative plan is Southern Netherlands and North Calais) We will also maintain a MPP with ePoland and get a official agreement signed.
This is the plan to expand our borders. First we will have the original eBE regions (Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels) and the first thing to do is to expand to Southern Netherlands. When this is done it is time to get Eastern Netherlands to settle our territory. Last step to take is to get North Calais to secure a congress which size fits our needs. Western and Northern Netherlands will remain part of ePoland as part of the deal.
Politics
When we have this done, eUNL will have a congress of 50 people and a population of a estimated 800-1000 citizens. Existing political parties require a fusion with parties from eNL. All signs of eBE or eNL nationalism should be removed, parties should exist because of their political views so everyone could join. eUNL will have the following ministries:
Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA)
When accepting new citizens the MoHA will first ask permission to the MoR if they could accept a citizen request, because eNL citizens will always have highest priority.
Ministry of Information (MoI)
This Ministry will have a Minister of Information who's English is good and who also have basic knowledge of Dutch and French. He will be assisted by 2 state-secretaries. One who speaks English and Dutch and one who speaks English and French. They will make sure that official state enouncements will be given in English, Dutch and French. However they will also watch carefully that everyone respects that English the only official language of eUNL is. There will also be a person which will manage the Wiki-pages to keep it up to date, also individuals could request this person to make a page for them if they supply the text and maybe a small contribution to them. (Which benefits the state of course)
Ministry of Defense (MoD)
The MoD will have more work to do with many more MU's. The official state-MU's of eNL and eBE will have a fusion into UNL-National Army and will be under the direct command of the President. Battle orders will be in English only.
Ministery of Work (MoW)
The eUNL-National Army will get supplies by the state communes which will have to expand and become much bigger so we will cut the costs and work more efficient. The bigger state-communes will mean we could supply even more Q7 weapons every day to fight with! The minister will manage the commune system together with a Director of the Communes (which will be appointed by congress every three months to assist new MoW) They will have close contacts with the people who run state companies. Those communes will be located in a 100% Bonus country, which could be Poland as part of the deal we make with them. This will benifit us with a bonus and they will benifit from more tax income.
Ministry of Reunification (MoR)
Like mentioned before the Ministry of Reunification will manage the reunification of eUNL. They will always make sure that the right people get accepted in the country.
Ministry of Finances (MoFi), Ministry of Coaching (MoC) and Ministry of Fun (MoFu) will continue their work like usual.
The Economy
Because there are two countries, there have to be one treasure. We need to transfer all money to eUNL and do this under the supervision of the MoFi and MoR. Merging the treasure means we get a booming and dynamic economy which will result in the solution of other problems. For example we could lower the taxes which will boost the national market and will improve the trade. The state will see more transactions and more income and should do nothing more than maintain this free trade zone.
Current taxes in both countries:
Law book
Both eNL and eBE have their own law book. The MoR first need to find out if we have common laws or the same laws wrote down just a bit different. First the laws we both have needs approval by congress again. After that the debates and votes will start for the laws which are not the same or not even existing in the other country.
Forum
Both countries have their own forum, so might be difficult to chose one. Referendum will be required to set the official forum, however this is risky. If those two forums will remain to exist it is possible that people only register to one and refuse. It is also possible to demand everyone to register to both forum, but the government needs to pick the one where they are officially.
Alliance
Well here we got a problem, which alliance should the eUNL join? We will be a bigger country with more fire power and we will have to look where we should go. At the moment eBE is part of CoT and eNL is trying to get in ASGARD. In my opinion eUNL should be the new eIreland like it was some months ago: Neutral and free. However we should have MPPs with some countries including ePoland to maintain our relationship.

Meh, I agree with everything except the "United Netherlands".
I am okay with "United Belgium", so are many eBelgians. This would just be fair seeing that we already have been under the Netherlands once, the Netherlands should be under Belgium once to😇

Well that is a point for discussion. Reasons to be eUNL and not eUBE is that it has a reference to a historical union between our countries. Also we are litteraly the "The Netherlands" if we look to geography. And third reason is that Belgium refers to a people that lived in Belgica in the time of the Roman Empire, so we do not really have connection with that. If there are many problems with the name, there should come a totally new name 😉

It's not easy because in the past several players knew problems.
Who will take care about the money, companies.
You are talking about both Southern and Eastern Netherlands. That would mean that ePoland will lose their bonus on cattle.
That is why the alternative plan is Eastern Netherlands+North Calais

As far as I will be congressmen of eBe or member of the government, I will never let eBelgium leave CoT. This alliance have done so much for us and we have done so much for them.
And 40 CM maximum for congress, if more than 40 regions, you get 1CM more (ex: 30 regions = 40 CM, 40 regions = 40 CM, 41R=41CM)
What about the Burgundian Netherlands or some other name from history from when we were an united country.

I do not really see any real benefit as inheriting the North, we are stuck with a Polish problem. So unless the Dutch will forever give up claims to Dutch lands (something GPN and van Spjick will not do) it is suicide for the Belgians to embrace in any union. You state that you want to have Southern NL to be in this union but I am not convinced that most Dutch will accept it
The last union, the Dutch and Belgians distrusted each other. It is not the same union as that of Germark. I think both the Dutch and Belgians needs to swallow their nationalism in such union and frankly I do not see that happening anytime soon on both sides...
I don't think any Dutch citizen would agree to forever give up claims to their territories, not just van Spijck or members of GPN.
wake up darling, we already lost our territories for almost 3 years in a row now. We must face facts and face the music. Another eUNL is also not a realistic idea.
North Calais would be of no use for us tbh in terms of bonus, just an extra possible strain because of a French RW.
Southern Netherlands would help us, and have the Polish keep their cattle and 2-way corridor. Inevitable RW of course.
As an alternative for North Calais, as you seem intent on the max CM, an alternative would be Rhineland-Palatinate. Difficulty here : Germans will need to be involved 🙂 Polish too, but they keep their 2-way passage open to oil.
So you see, it wouldn't be easy, RWs will make it hard to stick 🙂
But as for a neutral name : United Low Countries or Low Country Union
Honestly, i don't like it.
The part about the transfer to one treasury sounds not good.
That's a lot of details for everyone to agree on; however, there are some obvious benefits, imo. United Low Countries sounds like a reasonable compromise.
You should organize big referendums in eBe & eNL after improving your project with these comments. Also, you can put it on debate in "Debate Area" of the Congress forum to get collective empowerment 😉
United Belgium ok for me but not the United Netherlands

-> I never use myself that kind of signs. But as it is democratic that your points of "united" view can be reflected today in eBelgium, it is also democratic that the "nationalist" views (eBe different from eNL) can express themselves in case both country are united.

-> I definitely do not want to bargain some regions without the consent of its former country (in this case, I refuse to bargain North Calais with Poland, it's a french territory, no matter the treaty they have).

-> In this case, you have to be sure to know how to split it the day the merge will end.
The rest of your points are interesting, but I'm against any kind of merge. I vote NO.
you are talking about the big problem we had in the past.
It was more a divorce, like a division.
We can also remake the Gallia Belgica with Belgium, the Southern Netherlands and North Calais
Interesting points Kordak. I think making a union this time around however will be a lot more difficult especially when it comes to the alliance part and having to completely create new law books unless there are some common laws.
Interesting. Read about comments about 4 regions is enough for 40 members of congress. Some difficulties that were alive in the past, are alive now (name, forum, trust between communities).
You should try to find consent, before trying an union.

didn't work in the past. won't work now. it was a nice experiment but it's not doable.
It worked very well, until some romanian group PTO'd eBelgium. So where are your facts?
V+S I'm still a huge fan of a united BeNeLux, so let's get eLux added! Together we'll be a way stronger force, and maybe won't have to give up any territory if we work close with some big allies of ours, and ofcourse with CoT. eNL joining Asgard didn't work out because of the Swedes, and tbh I don't see any change there. So let's try to find our commom ground to make this happen!

I'm clearly against some ideas in that plan, too risky and could put eBE in danger.
Keep the Belgians! I was there in eUNL, was not a succes. Constant biccorin.
And sincethen eBe and eNL have grow more apart then ever IMHO (mainly because of in-game changes as well)
DP, I'm sure this can work like it was before. eUNL was a success until a romanian PTO group decided that this union was an easy target for them. And like in every community there was some discussions sometimes but we always worked things out !

This subjects come up every 2 number of months, I don't really see it working.
Been tried, it failed. After that there has been discussion many many many times and never came to anything.
Why is everyone saying it won't work because of the past???
Let us at least discuss the possibility for today and perhaps the future.
The past, yes it should be reminded and used to prevent from making the same mistakes.
But do not let it rule everything. after all it was 3 YEARS ago!!!
This is no longer the same game, not the same players. So why should that past decide our future???
Possible name: I like BeNeLux, Luxembourg may not be on the game, but we do have a luxembourgish community(integrated in eBelgium).
Finances: 2 separate treasurer's will exist but under one management, and the management will be rotated among the selected representatives from all community's(with community's i do not refer to the nations, but to the political and cultural groups).
About the forum and irc: Create a new forum, simple. But before creating that forum a minimum of a Forum rule-book must be in place or you might end up with a very chaotic mess.
What happens to the old fora's? The administrators of those fora will lock up everything, restrict access to all accounts of those fora's so only the administrators of them will have access to retrieve and relay any information that might be relevant on the new forum.
For the irc channels one can do the same.
All of this require the full cooperation of all the involved administrators for this to work.
On all other points i do not see a problem.

That. Plus, Benelux is a normal RL term. So new players will immediately grasp the idea and accept it. I remember how hard it was for new eBE players to get the idea of being in some "United Netherlands".
Benelux, or it won't work.
We have McKitkat who represent Luxembourg 😉
Just point out that we have 30 CM and the Netherlands 0. This union would give +-15-20 CM for Belgium...

You don't need to be friends to sign a MPP with a country you know.
