Part of my blurb in the advertisement for the last congressional elections said...
"I would like to get the political parties to talk to each other and discuss some potential merging to lessen the political clutter. If we can get down to 2-3 strong, large parties, I think it will be easier on the average Joe."
I had a big tl;dr post calling for the PP's to start a discourse, but I thought better of it. I'm sure a few like-minded parties could find common ground and combine their strengths to make eIreland even stronger. I humbly ask the PP's to message each other and consider a few merges to trim down to 3-4 solid parties, and I will not bore you with the tl;dr I had originally drafted.
Instead, I leave you with this picture.

Game mechanics do not allow you to completely eliminate a party AFAIK. Moving members to create 2-3 strong parties will simply weaken the others to the extent that they become targets for the PTOers to get party presidency
What happens if every last member "resigns party"?
Would that end the party, or would the party exist with zero members?
With larger membership, PTO bids for PP's would be easier to stop.
I understand anyone who may not want merges, but I made a campaign promise. I was obliged to create this article to make good on that promise. I think a few merges would be beneficial, but I do not bemoan anyone who likes things the way they are.

Won't matter.
A small number of large and well defined parties can easily out-vote a PTOed party. Party Presidency doesn't matter in such a scenario.
5 parties would be better than 2/3 imho.
I agree that 5 would be better than 2.
I also think 4 would be better than 7.
I think we can all agree there could be too few parties. I think we can all agree there can be a glut of too many parties. The disagreement comes in debating the number that constitutes a good middle ground.
One liberal party.
One left-wing party.
One right-wing party.
One centrist party.
One extremist party (e.g. communists or fascists).
Here you go. One flavour for everyone.

I have done that before also Bhane. Had a long article and then once I read it through a bit I said to myself "That won't work" and deleted it. lol
I honestly like the idea and think it should be implemented at least once. Remember how smooth everything was when it was just SoE & PLF?

All Parties are effected equally (Left-wing to Right-wing) by the mechanics of the game. Leaving nothing left but lulz.
