eIndonesia attacks eSouth Africa and a quick interview [Day 794]
Bristel Akina
Good afternoon, eRep'ers.
Today, two (un)expected attacks on eSouth Africa by Indonesia is our top story.
Here: Free State
Here: Eastern Cape
These attacks have apparently violated a NAP with eSouth Africa.
Both the Eastern Cape and Free State are now in battle, as of 9:30 eRep Time.
After some tip-off prior to the battle to occur, eSouth African President Mark Morcom petitioned for an MPP with the eUSA, which will pass in about 1 hour 10 minutes.
Here is a short interview I held with former eSouth Africa President Ines Schumacher:
Bristel Akina: It seems that the attack was predicted and in a fortuitous time with the emergency MPP proposal being sent to the eUS congress just yesterday. Do you have any comment on how this predication was created and information was gathered in time?
Ines Schumacher: We got information that PHOENIX was planning an attack from 2 different sources. We pissed them off by declaring friendly relations over. They probably felt even more threatened by the US MPP and decided to attack us before it passed.
BA: It occurred to me that I read a post in the eRep forums stating that eIndia was not the objective in eIndonesia's recent flareup. Did the situation become obvious that eIndonesia was hoping to trigger a chain war with eArgentina by activating MPPs in eThailand, in order to reach ePeru's High Iron region?
IS: Yes, very obvious. At the same time, they're were also planning for Argentina to region swop with Indo to get to SA. I don't know if this plan has changed or not.
BA: Do you believe the next major front in the battles between EDEN and Phoenix will now be suffered in the southern hemisphere?
IS: I think the major front will still be in Europe and the south will be used as distractions and draining wars. It's very unfortunate, but I hope we won't be left to our own devices.
BA: With the situation in Europe, eGermany regaining two territories just before a new election day is coming, do you think EDEN will be stretched thin over two fronts?
IS: I hope so. 🙂
SA isn't a very war-savvy country, we depend on our allies' advice and guidance and help.
BA: How are the eSouth Africans faring? Is the occupation of the home territories affecting player morale?
IS: Not so much morale as it's hampering our growth. The two most populated regions in RL (Gauteng and Western Cape) are automatically the ones most players start the game in. These regions are both occupied so we'll never get a baby boom which we desperately need.
BA: Do you believe a United eSouth Africa will help strengthen eSA's defense of the region, and has this attack pushed eSA into full support of EDEN, or is eSA hoping to come out neutral?
IS: I can't answer that, it's all very up in the air right now. EDEN is supporting us, but I don't know what that relationship will culminate in.
---Shining Star News thanks FPoeSA Ines Schumacher for her time and comments.
The modus operandi behind this attack seems to be revealed. With a MPP between eBolivia and ePoland, it seems that eBrazil is beginning to take a more aggressive stance towards their neighbors in the southern hemisphere. Currently the situation is limited to eSouth Africa, with 2 battles running down, but anything can happen in the next 24 hours, and it seems that this will be the next front in the war. Whether or not EDEN or Phoenix will succeed in their plans for the southern hemisphere is unknown, but it seems like South America will be a major point of contention in the future. It seems that eArgentina may be able to take advantage of this arrangement of MPPs and swaps as well.
Here is a recent article taken from eBrazil's President Jazar about the attacks and about eBolivia:

"😉
ear Brazilians
Announced today is the official way to BIA (Indonesia Argentina Brazil - Brothers In Arms - Armed Arms PHOENIX in the southern hemisphere), the idea is to clear this area of the map the cancer EDEN, keeping the region stable, so we will fight to clear the same as any forward base (aka puppet) of EDEN, as South Africa and Australia.
All Hail BIA , all Hail Argentina Brazil Indonesia!
In the background are the signature of MPP between Bolivia and Poland, sent by the Bolivian president, we believe that the friend of my enemy is neither my colleague, so we are asking for a position in Bolivia and by contacting members of the ALA to together presenting our displeasure with such an attitude in the form of economic embargo.
And finally, do not fight for South Africa, even if it is the only open battle, for God's sake!" -Jazar
Currently the ALA is not primarily involved with Phoenix or EDEN as far as battles have been for the last few weeks.
Whether or not the ALA will make a remark on this aggressive letter from eBrazil is to be seen in the next few hours to days.
Updates will come as the story unfolds.

Shocking news... wonder how ALA is going to handle this.
Eh, I wouldn't mind eSouth Africa being wiped out. It would cause some problems but whatever. The game is more interesting when odds are stacked against us.
Definitely more interesting, but this makes for a highly volatile situation... 3 countries in collusion to use eSouth Africa as a doormat... eBolivia and all of the ALA threatened by eBrazil (which may be the eBR President ranting)... eIndonesia with a door to ePeru's high iron region... it certainly is interesting!
Well, it would certainly pull us out of the lull we've been in. Plus, it gives us an excuse to go down to South America. The only problem I see is I believe Emerick's deal with Mexico may still be in force, so we can't just barge through them without costing ourselves a bit.
Subscribed btw. Good paper.
Thank you 🙂
My previous article is about the Resistance Wars in eSouth Africa from 5 days ago, it also has an interview with Ines. It really seems like this whole thing was a long time coming.
Really? "It's all up in the air?"
Fine.
Excellent report. I will keep track of your paper. I am new so it would be nice to have something like this keeping me up to date on the latest international situations.
By the way, war is fun and all if you are on the winning side, but if you are the loser it starts feeling less like a game and more like a real life failure. We have to be careful with our strategies and tactics. Agressiveness will win us the first conflict, but preperation and patience will win us the whole war and that's what makes it all worth it.
This whole game is a social experiment, also. People fight for more than points here. There are religious activists, ideological resistance movements and governmental experimentation that are favored by some which costly war would interfere with.
Maybe I have some wires twisted in my brain, but the most fun I had in this game was when the US was being destroyed by PEACE and we were having a hell of a time defending ourselves. Didn't feel like a real life failure personally. It felt more like the game was AWESOME!
Hahaha! I suppose you could get a rush out of a finding yourself in the desperate defense of your nation. Not mine or everyone's forte, but at least we know that we can turn to someone anxious for the fight when we are in a jam, eh?
I didn't think it was fun to watch our nation lose battles to four invading nations. :/
I thought that was the worst part of my entire career on this game, getting destroyed. I would rather be freeing nations (like what we're doing now) then being destroyed.
Good stuff mate. Ines rocks! XD
Australia is not a puppet!!!!
eAustralia certainly is not a puppet, and the entire southern hemisphere would benefit from a strong, independant eAustralia that is run by Australians, not the Indonesians or the Brazilians... The same goes for eSouth Africa.
Jazar is just butthurt because Brazil lost to Australia and Gauteng is in Danger of being liberated. puppet calling is lol worthy
If you really want to know what's happening in ALA, you should subscribe the ALA newspaper, not making assumptions like you're doing now.
