Qualche giorno fa stavo leggendo un articolo sugli ereptools e mi ha colpito la funzione New Citizen in grado di fornire l’elenco dei giocatori che hanno iniziato a giocare in un determinato giorno. A few days ago I was reading an article about ‘ereptools’ and I hav been intrigued by the ‘New Citizen’ function that can provide a list of the players who started playing in a given day.


Ho pensato che sarebbe stato interessante valutare la crescita dei giocatori e studiare se il trend fosse differente in diverse nazioni. I thought it would be interesting to assess the growth of the players and to study if the trend was different in different countries.
Ho scelto un giorno di 6 mesi fa, il 21 di maggio 2014, ed ho cominciato a vedere gli elenchi che apparivano, 5 nuovi giocatori in Slovenia, 360 in Ukraina (ricordate il baby boom ukraino?). Ho controllato 18 paesi, tra i più forti di eRepublik (Argentina, Brasile, Bulgaria, Cile, Croazia, Grecia, Ungheria, Indonesia, Italia, Polonia, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spagna, Turkia, Ukraina e USA). Risultato: su 795 nuovi players in eRepublik (nelle 18 nazioni citate): solo il 5 - 6% sono tuttora attivi!
Differenze tra un paese e l’altro? Praticamente nessuna!
Sono andato indietro di 6 mesi e poi di altri 6: non cambiava niente.

Back to 6 months and then another 6monts : nothing changed.

Ho rianalizzato i dati del database di 595 giocatori italiani, costituito circa 8-9 mesi fa, all’interno dell’attività del Gruppo di Ricerca Strategica (a proposito: chi ci sta a rifondarlo?). Le barre indicano gruppi di giocatori omogenei per Livello di Esperienza. Le percentuali sono relative ai giocatori tuttora attivi.
In sintesi: solo una piccola minoranza dei giocatori che si affacciano ad eRepublik continuano. 		The bars indicate homogeneous groups of players with respect to Level of Experience. Percentages are relative to the players still active.
In short: only a small minority of players who start to play eRepublik continue.


Plato, mi permetto di darti del tu. Adesso capisco perché sei sempre triste e pensoso.
Ti metti nei panni dei nuovi giocatori? E’ deprimente pensare di potere contare qualcosa solo fra due o tre anni.
Forse la riforma delle Divisioni ha solo peggiorato le cose.
Forse eRepublik dovrebbe essere un gioco ed è diventato troppo serio, non c’è più spazio per il divertimento.
Qui si dovrebbe proprio inventare qualcosa, serve un colpo di genio. 		Plato, I beg to you informally. Now I understand why you are always sad and pensive.
You put yourself in the shoes of the new players? It’s depressing to think that they will play role only in two or three years.
Perhaps the reform of the Divisions has only made things worse.
Maybe eRepublik should be a game and has become too serious, there is no more room for fun.
Here you should just invent something, we need a great idea.


Si potrebbe chiedere a tutti i giocatori di proporre idee.
-Forse il modulo politico si potrebbe semplificare (a che serve il congresso? -Forse meglio un presidenzialismo puro, dopotutto siamo in stato di guerra perenne).
-Potrebbero crearsi delle scorciatoie, nei concorsi settimanali, per fare crescere più rapidamente la forza. Questo mi pare un punto importante, altrimenti non si darà mai una rimescolata alle carte e tutto rimarrà stratificato e, quindi, abbastanza noioso.
-Le Alleanze finiscono per essere sempre molto sbilanciate, anche questo è un problema.
-Magari creare una nuova tipologia di Battaglia Lampo nella quale nazioni meno forti possano concentrare le forze e vincere contando sul fattore sorpresa?
In poche parole, creare stupore, dinamicità, novità, interesse per tutti.
Forse è tempo di cercare soluzioni. Cominciamo da qui. Dacci la tua opinione 		We could ask all players to propose ideas.
-Perhaps the political module could be simplified (what is the Congress for? Maybe better a full presidential system, after all we are always in war).
-Perhaps you could create shortcuts, in the weekly challenges, to let players to grow faster in strength. This seems to me an important point, otherwise we will never shuffle the cards, everything will remain stratified and, therefore, quite boring.
-Alliances always end up being very unbalanced, this is also a problem.
-Maybe you can create a new type of Flash Battle in which weaker nations can concentrate forces and win thanks to surprise?
In short, to create amazement, dynamism, innovation, interest for everyone.
Perhaps it's time to seek solutions. Let's start from here. Give us your opinion plz
