A Storm Gathers...

Day 2,402, 05:44 Published in United Kingdom USA by Charlie Silverhand

I had told you about my journey to our favoured tavern, this is the tale of my journey to quench my thirst, to quench the unquenchable thirst for knowledge.

Man has always been one to act like a sponge. To suck the knowledge out of each and every moment in life, whether they are mistakes or masterstrokes, we always learn something.

This thirst, this quest is what drove me from being a drunk, slurring boy at the tavern to a man of books, a man of words.

I arrived at the fabled eBrit University, not knowing what to expect. I met a charming woman who gave me a set of books and a paper, the paper had a long list, it was of targets. I looked down the list with wonder, and then looked back at the woman who I had realized was my mentor and head of the university.

I wasn't sure how I would achieve the targets set out in the sheet, but as days passed I slowly achieved one after the other. The university awakened in me the yearning for knowledge, for accomplishments and achievements, whether that is a good thing or bad, only time will tell.

My next days were spent in our beautiful sun kissed campus, learning the ins and outs of the world we live in, through debates, arguments and discussions.

But all good things had to come to an end, and at late afternoon one day, we heard a thunderous explosion. There were sirens going, there were people screaming. I ran out of the university, trying to figure out what had happened. I saw a smoke filled street, men and woman screaming and running. I saw a flag emerge from the smoke, a flag of an empire, of an empire that must and will fall. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but we will bring them down.

For we are not fighting for conquests, we are fighting for our nation, our very way of life and we will not rest till she is safe.
