One day, more than 3 years ago, I was watching a program on BBC about the new games on internet and they started talking about erepublik. I had never played any games on internet but this one made me curious. A social interactive game that have created a lot of buzz and is becoming very popular because of it's many diversities. Military, Politics, Congress, Business, Trade, Monetary Market, Media.....to name a few. A world in cyber space that you can get involved in. Sounded very interesting so I joined and called myself Zina out of the blue and started playing. I decided to live in Canada because I am half Canadian so it made more sense to me. I Live in Iran most of the year though but being in eCanada not only gave me the chance to socialize with people that I loved in RL and missed being away from, it also gave me the chance to practice my English and I can't deny that the military part of the game seemed very intriguing...the fact that you can not only create battles but fight in them as well.

In those days the game was a lot different and I don't believe many people used to buy gold. You could survive without buying gold. People used to help each other a lot. I found a job in a ticket company and my boss was an amazing guy. He became my mentor & he was one of the best people I met in this game. Unfortunately he quit because of RL issues & never came back. Through these years I have met people from all over the world, people that I never have the chance to meet in real life. That's the beauty of this game. I have found a different kind of friendship. I know that it's only pixels and just a game but some of the friendships you find here are truly exceptional. Maybe because we all are behind a computer screen and see the side of each other that we won't see in real life. Maybe because some of us have fantasies & can roleplay it here. For whatever reason we all play this game, this place give us the opportunity to do so! I remember an amazing guy in CAF who was spending a lot of time on erep and I found out that he had cancer and his days were numbered. When he suddenly disappeared and we later found out that he passed away, I can't explain the sadness that I felt. As if losing a good friend in real life. I had never met him, did not even know his real name, but the sorrow I felt was no different.

Anyways, the reason that I am writing this article today is just to say that being part of this alliance or that, being in this MU or that MU, being in this country or that country really does not matter. We have all found friends in places that we never dreamed of. This game had a lot more love in it before. It used to be a much peaceful place. I am not sure if this is due to the male dominance in this game or the age groups, not sure. It's a shame that players are more hostile to each other and hate and trolling is much more common these days.

Two days ago, my CS got accepted in Turkey and this land will be my new home. I noticed that there are not a lot of English articles in their media so it inspired me to write an article in English and hope that more people can write in a language that we can also understand what is going on in our new land. I know that Turkish people are a very nationalistic nation and they love to speak "only" Turkish but come on guys. Give us also a break and let's communicate and be friends.
I am usually a very friendly person, but in the battlefield and when fighting I transform into a wild beast.........Rawrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
