[WHS CP] End of Term

Day 1,840, 07:21 Published in Ireland Ireland by Winston Hope Smith

Dear friends and fellow eIrish,

The following is a review of my term...

MoD
With 3 countries bordering us, eCanada, eUSA & eUK the choices for war were limited.
eCanada provided us with a training war as I took office and for that I am grateful. They did what they could to get us those missions and relieve the boredom and I was not going to repay them with an uncoordinated/agressive war.

eUSA is undergoing a pto at present and tbh are preoccupied, understandably, with managing this. We have many friends in the eUSA and should we have a war having them on our side and not against is important. For that reason alone (and there are so many others) attacking the eUSA is never an option.

This left the eUK as the only option and was one the MoD on my behalf attempted to make happen. We maintained contacts with the eUK government. We asked them to consider redoing the region swap. However after a vote in the congress and then a public vote, both which went against, this option was dead. We then asked them for a training war but with the threat from their eastern flank from Russia (ironically if we had Scotland that threat would not have been there 🙂 ) they baulked at the idea in case they ended up in a real war at the same time.

So we ended the term without a war and for that I can only apologise.

We have however re-started the fight nights and the MoD is to be commended for this. I missed the last one but believe it was as successful as the first. I hope to see this continued and improved in the next CP’s term. MU commanders were communicated regularly on EDEN orders. I would like to thank those Commanders who maintained a cordial mass message.

eIreland maintained our orders with EDEN orders and we fulfilled our commitment to our alliance throughout this month. The big 2 fights that come to mind (and I know there were more) was the attempted effort to maintain The Netherlands on the map - Failed, and returning Portugal to the map - success. eIreland was fully committed to EDEN for the month and regardless of the upcoming vote outcome, this is something we as a nation should be proud of.

Bootcamp after a couple of bumpy weeks is back on a stable footing. I want to thank those who held Commander role in the last month, I know it did not work out for some but I know they always had the best interest of the new soldiers first in mind. I want to thank Irasian to accepting my offer of retaking Command of Bootcamp and returning it to the stability it needs. This he has done. Also big thank you to those benefactors who fund Bootcamp, you know who you are! Due to these donations and state subsidy the young ones can now fight supplied again. to the exchequer and is to be welcomed.

MoFA
The MoFA was tasked with maintaining our MPP stack, with due consideration to our financial situation. This they set about doing and we had much support from foreign Governments helping us fund our side of the MPP cost. This provided a saving to the exchequer and is to be welcomed. I thank Mirek12345 and his team for this.

EDEN meetings were also attended and any CP meeting I was missing, Mirek12345 attended in my place...

MoC
Due to an untimely bereavement in the Minister’s family he was not able to have the the programme of activities he hoped. Real Life must always come first and I send eIrelands sympathies to Anthony and family.

However we did get eRTÉ up and running but it needs content. I am delighted to announce that both The Death of Rats and Dr. Pierre Chang now have the passwords to upload their own content. Come on people put your thoughts in audio and send them to me.

Oh btw one of my last decisions as CP will be to say that eRTÉ is (as it was) independent of Government. I’ll ask Death and Pierre to join me (once the new CP is in place) to design structures for the eNational Broadcaster.

I also did bring a proposal to Congress for the creation of a new eNational forum.
Lets just say that Congress appeared underwhelmed and it did not get the support it would need,. So once again I have not fulfilled that promise and apologise.

MoF
We have worked hard to control costs and increase income during this term. Regaining fiscal control was my priority. All orgs (bar one which has a eRep glitch) are now under the control of the MoF.
I have asked Appleman to give a report on progress.

Finally

The Vote for staying or leaving the EDEN alliance is up.
Please consider how you vote very carefully as it will set the path for eIreland for months to come. Note this referendum is a consultative referendum
and it is in the gift of the next CP on whether to accept or not its results.
Thanks John Gormley for agreeing to run the vote.

You can find the relevant article here and note the vote closes 24 hours from when it was posted up. Referendum on Membership of Eden Alliance

Thanks to Irasian who served as MoNC for a while.

Finally I’d like to thank the Minister of Silence who fulfilled his duties honourably. The silence was awesome!

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to serve.

with kindest regards,

Until next time
