[Sai] CP's Questions!

Day 2,900, 15:42 Published in Australia Australia by Saiwun

Good morning eAustralia,

This is a brief (maybe not so) article to address JackTrout's PM questions in regard to the forthcoming presidential elections. His article can be seen here.
Some of you may notice the graphics that I am using, a big thanks to Blackbeard00 for his great work!

There was one main question posed to me: Who are we going to fight?

At the moment, we are quite secure in our geopolitical situation, and are capable of defending our boarders through diplomatic means. However, eRepublik is a war game, and war in moderation is a great boost for our economy. The best way for us to utilise this benefit is via training wars with our neighbours, which I shall be looking into in due course. Furthermore, if the cards are on the table, and senate willing, there may be room for more ambitious military agenda, perhaps for farming bonuses or in order to aid an ally. I am not too keen on launching any air strikes as I have bad experiences with them, but would prefer more traditional military operations. It is unwise to discuss delicate plans here, but any military operations shall be discussed with the government!

Do you intend for eAustralia to retain membership in Nebula?

As things stand, there are many doubts about Nebula, doubts shared by me. There have been talks about corruption and hidden agendas. From experience in alliances, I know that the effectiveness of alliance can change term by term. I don't want to be rash and leave the alliance, Australia can still benefit from it's involvement there, however, it would suit us to increase our involvement there to aid it's development, as well as to monitor its situation and inner workings, in order to asses our next move.

Can you name a couple of key countries with whom you specifically want to improve relations?

Definitely, if it's fine with you, I shall bullet point them:

-Peru
-Iran
-Argentina
-Chile

What is your opinion of our current NAP's and other agreements?

The NAP that we have with Chile, and the rental agreement we have with them is extremely beneficial to both parties, and I want it continued indefinitely. I don't know how many of you would remember the constant war/wipe we had back in the Scottty era. Now we have peace and diplomatic relations, we can be glad. We both benefit and maintain peace, a great prize that should be treasured!

Where do you see eAus in 6 months, in terms of regions, alliances, and allies?

Six months? Hmm...Ideally I would like to see a few colonies, rented or acquired by other means, peace at home, the Chilean and Indonesian NAPs still in place, and more activity in game. Realistically, I don't see our allies shifting that much, and as for alliances, I guess this term shall kind of determine that.

Domestic Policies:

Who is going to be in your Cabinet, or who would you want?

I'm still working on my cabinet. Argi has kindly agreed to be my vCP in the event that I win. I would also like Rusty D to work as an advisor, and am yet to formally ask him. As of yet, I am yet to arrange MoD or MoFA, so I highly encourage anybody who is interested to please contact me! I have asked somebody to be my MoE, bat am still waiting for their answer! 😉

Do you intend to make changes to the tax structure?/Do we need higher taxes, or is the CP going to continue paying for stuff, or do you think we are going all right as we are?

If those helping me out with economics saw it as a viable option, I would consider asking senate to vote on slightly higher taxes. Providing all goes well, we may be in a better financial situation that allows the economy to benefit from slightly higher taxes. I am no economist, so I shall need help in this area. Unfortunately, my funds are limited. I can of course provide some financial substitute to the treasury, but my pockets are not deep.

What is your strategy for increasing eAustralia’s population?

Looking at the global situation of all countries, there is little new activity. eRepublik is a dwindling game and those who do sign up seldom stay long. Therefore, I believe the nest course of action would be to source new players from other communities. With an immigration system in place, we can accept players willing to contribute positively to our community and are willing to serve!

Do you plan to introduce any new initiatives?

Not really, in the scheme of things, if the situation arises where we shall benefit from new initiatives, they will of course be looked into!

Will you commit to regular communications with both the congress and all eAussie citizens?

Yes, I believe that our community benefits greatly from communication. If elected, I strive for weekly updates, and regular MoD updates. There shall also be in game messages connecting senate and government!

I hope that answers a few things, and I hope I can count on your support, please post any further questions for me to answer in the comments!

All the best,

~S
