[RN] Its time for a change.

Day 1,745, 11:40 Published in United Kingdom Germany by Rfeist

Hi there fellow members of the RN. It is with deep regret that I have found myself writing this message to you all.

What follows does not effect my current or future involvement in the UKPP!

Now I have been with the RN form the very start of my erepublik career and it has unfortunately come time for me to leave and move on to other things.

The timing of this may not be great but has come around due to some friction caused within the ranks. The things that will follow have been needed to be said for a while so it falls to me to have to be the bearer of this information.

Now this has all started two plus months ago with Garth leaving our ranks and Firefox being asked to step up. This he did fantastically, better than any of us could have done in his stead. Some people didn't like this or seemed to want this next chapter to fail. Instead the RN reached new highs, peaking in damage at over 29 million.

This was followed up with more activity both in game and on irc. New games introduced and for the first time people used the Forums for the first time. This to me looks like a great resume and a fantastic achievement.

Now Firefox will not be the first person to say that he couldnt have done it alone. There was a great group of us working together for the good of the RN. These were Firefox, Myself, Wayne, Lady Macbeth and Bob for a majority of the time. Other people have helped us out with the operations of the RN and We would all like to thank you for your help and support throughout this time.

The Future, and reasons for us stepping away

The RN has served us well and us it. The reason for us stepping back is because some other people want a go at running it and believe that they can do a better job. So we have decided to let them. We have put a lot of time and effort into trying to keep the RN going. We believe that those people can now put their time and effort into the RN.

We have chosen to remain within the UKPP for the remainder of this month before an assessment to see where the direction will take us.

Where does our path lead...?

We have decided that for the time being we will not be happy in the new RN and so a decision was made by a few of us to leave.

So this is a goodbye for our involvement with the running and operating of the RN.

We will still be available in chat to talk and wish to remain friendly with many of you.

The reason for this final announcement of us stepping away

I received this letter a few days ago from a fellow member of the RN and so as she asked the RN command will be handed over to her.

''Hi Richard,
I'm writing to you, to adress my growing disturbance in RN matters.

After a long peaceful time of RN being governed by Joe Rooke, we have seen leaders of the RN vanish quickly; Garth Lidlington - the succeeder of Joe Rooke - left the MU after only a few months of leadership, and his succeeder - Firefox30 - has recently left the RN, thereby creating a vacuum of power.

I fear that the insecurity concerning the RN would not only give us a bad reputation, but also lead to the decline of members in our proud MU.

As much as i respect your leadership of the UKPP, i feel that you should not be left in charge of the RN due to it's neutrality in political matters - and this is where my application is justified - i believe that under my leadership, the RN will be able to stabilize before a future commander of the RN can be let in charge.

I want to be in charge of the RN at least until the beginning of January, 2013.

I dont think that i will be able to revolutionize the RN in this period of time, but i'm certain that the RN needs - and will find - a true commander under my leadership.

Lady Macbeth will be my 2iC as well as you will remain a close adviser of me due to the close relations the RN has with the UKPP.

My leadership of the RN will begin as of Monday the 3rd of September 2012, where you will transfer the ownership of the #royal.navy channel to me.

Sincerely
Lauren Taylor
''

So goodbye from us and safe sailing!
