[RL] Triple anniversary

Day 2,727, 01:52 Published in South Korea South Korea by ManuR
As you already know the 9th of May has a triple significance for the Romanian people.

Besides Independence Day was proclaimed in 1877, Romanians celebrate the victory of the Coalition United Nations in the Second World War on May 9, 1945. Thus has ended the Second World War in Europe but also Europe Day.

At the 9th of May 1877 by a speech in the Parliament of Romania by Mihail Kogălniceanu the country declares itself independent from the Ottoman Empire (recognized in 1878 after the end of the Romanian independence war).
Victory Day or 9 May marks the capitulation of Nazi Germany to the Soviet Union in the Second World War. Signing of the unconditional surrender of Germany took place in the Soviet headquarters in Berlin.

In many countries 9 May is recognized as the Victory Day over Fascism and considers it a non-working day.

In Europe, Europe Day is an annual celebration of peace and unity in Europe. The Schuman Declaration of 9 May 1950 (later known as Europe Day) was as a first step to a United Europe. The 9th of May was chosen as the Day of Europe by the European Council in Milan in 1985.
