Join the new world

Negotiation with Spanish CP began on Day 1844 in a private chat on IRC. In the beginning, we were just scheduling a meeting between us on monday, but then we started talking about current events... and we ended up talking about the NAP. Our conversation was informal and it helped us to understand what each country was pretending.

Before talking to our congressmen, I wanted to talk with Colombian CP and Argentinian CP to know which was their opinion but, unfurtonately, the Spanish CP began immediately a referendum to know the opinion of the Spanish people without informing me. He wasn’t supposed to do that, because we hadn’t finish the negotiation yet. Futhermore, the Spanish CP just omitted some parts of the NAP that he had already discussed with me.



This would be the NAP:

- Portugal would give Algarve, Norte and Azores to Spain.
- Spain would rent Castilla y Leon and La Rioja to Portugal for 45.000 cc monthly.
- Spain couldn’t declare war to Colombia nor Argentina.
- In case of Colombia attacking Venezuela, Spain could attack Colombia. But if Venezuela starts the war, Spain couldn’t attack Colombia even if Venezuela begins to lose the war.
- Portugal couldn’t attack Venezuela nor Mexico.
- Portugal would attack Galicia to change Spain’s capital.
- Portugal wouldn’t organize nor support rw’s at Guayana nor NEV.
- In the event that Spain wants to use Colombia as a way to Asia, it has to negotiate with colombians and just attack them if they agree.
- Portugal won’t defend the rw’s started in Algarve, Norte or Azores and Spain won’t defend the open rw’s at Castilla y Leon and La Rioja.
- This NAP would have a duration of 1 month and can be negotiated or not by the next CP.



Let’s analyse this treaty.

Advantages:
- Portugal would have 4 food bonuses and 1 weapon bonus.

- Spain would be unable of starting a direct war against Colombia or Argentina.
- By giving Azores, we would be protected from possible attacks from Brazil or Polonia.
- The NAP gives us time to organize and think about what we want for the future. Furthermore, we can see that EDEN is having a bad moment so by ending this war we could be a valuable help for EDEN and for our allies fighting for them and being less one country needing their help.

Disadvantages:
- We would not be able to attack anyone unless we will use the airstrike. However, it was not our objective to attack someone before ending the war with Spain and we don’t have conditions for doing that.
- The payment of 45k cc is a disadvantage but we need to understand that Spain has won the war. They will never accept to switch regions with us like if we had a draw. The only way to get two regions from them is paying something. And 45k cc isn’t much money. In only one battle we spend more than that. I remember you that just by paying to one MU, we spent more than 100k cc.

Sincerely, I think we can’t negotiate a better NAP than this one. With this NAP we could get weapon bonus and +1 food bonus, and save our closer allies from a direct attack from the Spanishes.
