Hello,

I am glad I reneged on my promise to be prolific. Why put hurdles? A wild cat should be a wild cat. Again, it can be whatever the fk it wants but just saying…

For the sake of saying, I’d talk about this article I read on erpblk, written by NapalmDoctor, titled “Going Forward”, which mentioned how to make this place better by bringing in people, how to make sacrifices, work hard and all that. It was nice.

I was interested in this word “Sacrifice”. I wonder what he means by sacrifice. Does he mean what I would mean by sacrifice? Probably not.

It looked like a straightforward article and had a whiff of honesty about it. Not my honest version of what sacrifice would entail but honest nonetheless.

So about bringing people in…

I’ve always believed in that. That is the only true strategy to perk up a place. But as NFM pointed out PTO is a problem if you are not equipped to deal with it.

In my gaming career (LOL), the most fun I’ve had was to deal with PTO’ers.

They have splendid stories to tell. They try to play with your head. It is amusing. If you are anything like me, you would encourage these stories by feigning belief and fueling it. They drop their guard and make the stories more fantastic. It is comedy gold.

All said, PTO is a mere trifle compared to the bigger problem… the entitled, dormant, insecure players you find all over the e-world.

These people expect the newcomers fall in line and do their bidding cos of course, they are experienced geniuses who have a claim on erep land. If they are RL jingoists on top of that, it is a whole new level of fugly.

The moment you show an independent thought or any thought for that matter, their tiny red flags go up.

“How dare this common pleb speak up against me? Did you see all the medals I’ve got? You insult my country, my mother and religion. Prepare to die!”

These people have no idea what to do with the new ones that come in. They truly underestimate human potential due to habit. They have no sense on how to deal with people who have a different energy.

Worst, they proceed to mentor you into obviousness.

But where is the fun if you don’t Riverdance on these toes?

I always experience condemnation of others in your articles i.e. acid. Most players keep busy in some or other manner some do it by building up massive communities (recruiters) if one is honest with oneself not all of us are great recruiters. and yes he does sacrifice his time and many times your money to build a base of new players. well they can be multies. but multies/pto'ers aint really "new"players.

you cant kill the bad fish by poisoning the whole river so there will always be a risk in recruiting players. but a new player is worth letting in 1 to 3 multies. and lets face it whether you recruit new players or not the same amount of multies will continue to be created.

well frankly you have a kind of contempt for normal people. I have read most of your articles most contain flaming. its my point of view . why does it concern you then because like everyone else you dont like contempt.

When did I say I have contempt for normal people? When did I say I don't like contempt? It is you that makes assumptions about me making assumptions.

I was very specific about the type I was condemning. "the entitled, dormant, insecure players" If that is the norm, then I should unreservedly condemn the norm. I didn't say it was the norm. You said it.

If I respect for the sake of respecting, there is no value for respect. I can give my compassion but respect I take it very seriously.

Also, I wrote about experience with newcomers back in 2009, but deleted it.
Also, I wrote a reply to the guy above, stating that it's better to look angry than to look stupid, but deleted it as well.
I delete a lot of things nowadays.

Also, about me not caring about newcomers. Well at this point, since I am not playing, I don't care about anything. In an even specific sense, on erep never really cared much and I don't think anyone would care about me either. In a general sense, I do. I would want people to be more free and not be stopped by parasites. I would want to really help and motivate people to do good. When I am sincere, you know I am sincere.

You don't have to delete things. I always have patience. It is just a choice when I take any contrary action.

Our situation was specific, Canada wont have that kind of base of newcomers, creative people working separately but inspiring each other. Nor we will have it again. Nobody will.
And clitkenn will stay, u wont.

Newcomers in the original article referred not only to newbies but also to the e-foreigners. Will Canada build an ideal base or atleast try is not for me to say. Not because I don't have the authority to say it (I don't recognize any authority) but I am simply not playing.

But I don't adopt a nihilistic attitude in things even if it is an exercise in futility. It blocks creativity and your own sense of liberty that you were talking about. As I said, why put hurdles?

Now there is nothing.

My point is - you need to work with people .. You can't write "Oh, be free, come up with some bright ideas" and then get the hvuck out of there ..

You talk as if erep is rocket science. How hard is it really to rake up a campaign, do a massive recruitment drive and get in a deluge of people? I've done it a bunch of times before and it is a very easy thing to do. You have a network of people and I have a network. Our network in turn has its own network. So in all it is thousands of people, if you tap into 5% of this network and they do the same, your job is done. This is just one small way of doing it. It is not a bright or brilliant idea. It is simple and plain.

The problem was never recruitment for me. It is about retention when I am not in power. Usually you don't get an infrastructure where people actively push others into power. It is the other way around where entitled people keep power to themselves and bore the fk out of others.

It is impossible for me to play long term or even short term now, but doesn't mean someone else who is interested can't do it. Despite not playing, I get messages from friends who want to rake up some stuff and get active.

You believe ideas come first, i believe people come first.
So let's say all of your ideas were brilliant, the fact remains none of it did last.
And you're not Dio, so we can state for a fact that in 5 years from now people won't rewrite your words, glorify you and follow your path.

I wasted too much time here, so my impression is that very few people care about ideas.
It's about loyalty and trust.
They observe .. How you handle things, how you deal with "tough times", even the way you argue with others.
If they like what they see, they will like you in other aspects as well.
They might follow.

Cause there is obvious lack of leaders.
And nobody cares.
So, f*ck ideas ..

Ah come Lord Radenko, your defeatist philosophy is not old to me. You might take a dig at what happened in ePak or you might say oh I am not Brando or anything. I never claimed that, did I? It is a matter of rationality and different mindset.

You really think I care about being glorified or being talked about lol. How little you know of me... I don't attach to real things, you think I would attach anything to a game avatar? That dig would have worked on someone who would have spent years and years on this game and has gotten addicted to it. I have never invested that time because it is something I can never do. Besides I'd be terribly bored.

Ideas and invention are the foundation on which civilization has been built upon. It is what created this game called erep lol.

Then you bring in some other argument as if I ever said people were not important when the very basis of my article is about sharing power and bringing people in and they are the most important resource.

Why do you have to spin your typical distorted view I will never know. Perhaps I do, but that is some other discussion about your personal convictions.
