[NN] Urgent appeal: don't be a sheep, vote independently!

Day 2,722, 10:09 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Mattio
Think independently. Vote for a CP, not for a party’s representative. Do not follow blindly.

This article is addressed to all Dutch citizens who are going to vote tomorrow. It is not addressed to Kordak as a person or as a candidate, though I friendly invite him to debate on this opinion article with me in an orderly way, as I believe nothing is more important than open dialogue and discussion. I respect Kordak as a player and as a person, and I want him to know that I like his activities and that I liked our moments of conversation in the past. I can only hope he sees me in the same way and that none of this will damage our relationship.

Dear reader,

I am going to do something I have never done before, because I believed it was someone else’s job. Today, however, I feel an urge that is great enough to force me into writing this. I am publicly expressing my support for a CP candidate. Not because he is of my own party – party politics shouldn’t matter in CP elections – but because of an un-ignorable fear of what is to become of our country.

In practice, the influence of a CP is not really that big, especially now that we have a Dictatorial button pusher who does whatever Congress tells him to do. The only real power a CP has is that he can appoint a MoFA who will, together with him and his VP, will be the face of our country, and a MoD who will coordinate our military. CP elections seem to be a larger thing than they are and, honestly, it is not an unimportant job nor an easy one. I know from my own experience that not everyone is suited to be a CP. I’m not, for one. I like to be active for my country and my community, but I do not want to be that person whom it all comes down to when push comes to shove.

It is important to know whether you would make a good CP or not and act upon that wisdom. It is also important to know whether the person you are voting for would make a good CP or not. Most of the time, CP’s were chosen who did a good job. We had some excellent CP’s in the past, we also had some mediocre ones and we had some rare incidents with people who got permanently banned for some reason. Tomorrow, however, I foresee an election result that could very well turn out to be a great danger to our society, the solidarity and fellowship in our community, as well as our international position.

Day 2,723: Kordak vs Legendardisch
With the support of ReL, GPN and his own VN, Kordak is running for the position of Country President. His only opponent is Legendardisch, former I&W member and now a member of DemNL, the only supporting party. For the sake of honesty and integrity, I will immediately tell you that at first sight, I did not like any of both candidates. They can be fierce at times and they share a history of stubborn and counter-productive behavior. But to get back to what I said about knowing yourself: the difference between them is that one of them knows this about himself and is willing to change, and he already is doing so.

In his article ‘Post Production’ (Day 2,722), Legendardisch writes: ‘Yes I too have tendencies to be fiery and all, but I try to keep it down and there has been an improvement, but Kordak can be unstable, and I question the following, can he and will he put the interests of the eNetherlands before that of his own?’

Events in the past have shown us that Kordak finds it very hard to distinguish his personal weight and that of our community. He believe that his position as Vice President under Fhaemita III was a justification to give his real life girlfriend Dutch citizenship even after justified denial by our MoHA. He later took upon himself the ideal to become neutral dictator – which is his and any player’s right – and turned the Congress decision into a political election by sending out campaign PM’s.

On a more personal note and also to make clear that I am against Kordak’s CP candidacy instead of against him as a person, I must say that I have had the joy to talk with Kordak personally and this really pleased me. However, I would vote for a Country President tomorrow, not for a friend.

And I urge all and everyone to do the same. Make your own decision. Do not blindly follow your party. Vote for a candidate, a Country President, a leader who makes no concessions to his duty and who will not put himself in front of the people he swears to protect, guide and lead.

You now know where I stand. I believe Legendardisch is a passionate and responsible player. He may be inexperienced, he may be foolish at times, but at least he knows this and he has surrounded himself with an experienced and trustworthy team to aid him.

But it's your turn now. Think for yourself, inform yourself about the candidates and vote - independently of what your party says.

Thank you. I salute,
