[MoPR] Congress Analysis Report Nov

Day 2,563, 16:56 Published in Norway Norway by Pressekontoret

Hello everyone! First off a big congratulations to all of our newly elected Congress Members! Its is very refreshing to see so many officials elected. It is what inspired me to do a Congress Analysis Report (CAR) for the first time since January I believe. We have had some big results so lets take a closer look.

November 2014, Total Votes:52

#1 Teknokratene 20votes or 38.46%
#2 Norwegian Green Party 18votes or 34.62%
#3 Norwegian Economic Cooperative 7votes or 13.46%
#4 Partiet 4votes or 7.69%
#5 Liber8 3votes or 5.77%
October 2014, Total Votes:51
#1 Teknokratene 18votes or 35.29%
#2 Norwegian Green Party 16votes or 31.37%
#3 Norwegian Economic Cooperative 9votes or 17.65%
#4 Partiet 5votes or 9.80%
#5 Liber8 3votes or 5.88%

There were a few minor changes from October to November. Now lets analyze each party's results and look into some of the factors that could have decided the outcome.

Teknokratene
Overall: +2votes or +3.17%, 11 Elected Members

Tek has managed to regain and hold the #1 spot for the past two months now after being knocked off the top position by the NGP. They have managed to keep a steady amount of members which has helped contribute to their success. Overall their vote did not change by much from October but a small increase is a welcome increase indeed. However going into the elections with 29 members, Tek only took home 20 votes meaning 68.97% of Tek members came out to vote which was the poorest rating by any of the other parties. By increasing their voter turnout Tek can easily dominate any future election.

Norwegian Green Party
Overall +2votes or +3.25%, 10 Elected Members

The NGP also had a small increase which was the exact same as Tek but not big enough to catapult themselves back into the top spot this election. The biggest factor into the NGP's decline has been their declining membership. Going form a high of 32 members just two months ago to hovering around 20-21 as of the last few weeks. Not that members are leaving, but that some of the younger members the NGP attracted have died. If they want to compete with Tek again, attracting new members is a must. The best news they had other than their increase in vote was that they had a 90% voter turnout.

Norwegian Economic Cooperative
Overall -2votes or -4.19%, 4 Elected Members

Nec has seen their overall vote reverse compared to Tek or the NGP however they have managed to elect 4 members this time giving them a much larger voice in Congress this time around. Although Nec is a much smaller party than the previous two, they have a very active membership during votes. They had the best overall showing with just 6 members they took 7votes meaning they managed to have a 117% turnout attracting a non member to their cause. This could be a sign that Nec is ready to stage a more national play in domestic politics and grow their party.

Partiet
Overall -1vote or -2.11%, 1 Elected Member

Not much has changed at all since October for Partiet. The biggest change was not their voting share, but that their party was returned back after a voting block had moved to Partiet and took the party over. Partiet may have had a small showing but have sent arguably one the most experienced Norwegian officials to Congress. Partiet only had a 50% voter turnout.

Liber8
Overall 0vote change or -0.11%, 1 Elected Member

Liber8 has been the party to have had the very least changes of all the parties since October, neither increasing nor decreasing their vote share. New members will be needed for Liber8 to stage a comeback. Liber8 managed to have a 60% voter turnout and also sending an experienced member to Congress once again.

Other Major Changes

More Regions
One of the biggest factors this term was also Norway having 3 regions. For the last couple months Norway has maintained 1 region for Congress due to rental deals so this time around their were a lot more seats up for grab. This was a big factor especially for Tek and the NGP who were able to run more candidates than the other parties. It will definitely get more interesting in Congress with a lot more voices at the debate and voting tables.

As always don't forget to V,S&S!

Kind Regards,
