[GUK] Congress report

Day 1,951, 14:16 Published in United Kingdom Sweden by Master Lobban Le Rub Klitoris

Blessed be to congress

I have had the honour of being the first congress member to represent the Guardians of United Kingdom. As such I also I'm the first to give a account of the proposals made in congress during my parties term in congress. This report is not only to show what the Guardians of United Kingdom voted but also to give all eUK citizens a idea of what congress has been up to as congress does not seem to keep the majority of eUK citizens in the loop.

1.President Impeachment-Proposed by BigAnt, 23 days ago
Do you want the current president of United Kingdom to end this office?
I voted NO result yes-25, No-13
this was to impeach Reist after the CP told us that he was not going to be active and that Butjam will be acting CP. There were only a few days until the next CP election so I voted no. Though Butjam seemed rather displeased that the impeachment failed.

2.Natural Enemy Proposed by BigAnt, 19 days ago
France has been proposed as Natural Enemy.
I voted NO Yes-20, No-19
This was BA's attempt at getting a war but France did not want to have a TW with us and it would have been bad for the UK to attack France just as they had signed a proposal with Serbia and Poland.

3. New Citizen Message Proposed by Blue And Evil, 18 days ago
I voted YES result Yes- 32, No-4
This had to be done to put in the new links to NHS since BigAnt was kind enough to run off with the old links to show the eUK that he was not happy that Blue and Evil won the CP election

4.VAT & Import Taxes: Weapons Proposed by Robalbinio, 18 days ago
Taxes New Old
Value added tax (VAT) 5% 15%
Import Tax 10% 60%
I voted NO result Yes-24, NO- 12
I voted no because I do not believe the answer to are lack of revenue is to further decrease taxes, and it was not since the numbers I saw showed that we lost even more money in government revenue.

5.Minimum Wage Proposed by Gareth.4686, 17 days ago
Minimum wage change from 0.5 GBP to 0.75 GBP
I voted NO results Yes-11, No-27
There does not seem to be a need to rise minimum wage since the highest wages in eUK are well above 0.5 GDP and it would hurt any commune suppliers who run at 0.5 GDP

6.Income Tax Proposed by Sir Rex Fleddington, 17 days ago
Income tax change from 5% to 11%
I voted YES Yes-7, No-31
It seems that the most sure way to increase government revenue is to increase income taxes which takes only a little amount from the worker while giving collectively to the government a sizable amount of money to redistributed it to places in need, like MU's. The common citizen would profit more with the government help then they would from keeping the 1.5GDP per day they would give to the government in income tax.

7.Natural Enemy Proposed by Talon Karrde, 15 days ago
Ireland has been proposed as Natural Enemy.
I voted NOYes-29 No-7
although at first I was pushing a TW with Ireland the battle that TWO began to unleash on Russia to get to China made it seem unwise to direct damage in a pointless war when our TWO allies could have been better served with our damage going to there battles. Talon said he only proposed the NE because he was drunk but I think it was planed with the CP or to just stop others from proposing NE's on either France or Norway. This 'TW' has now evolved into a real war, which is all rather silly.

8. Donate Proposed by Sir Rex Fleddington, 9 days ago
Do you agree to transfer 5000 GBP from the country accounts to National Health Service?
I voted NO Yes -7, No-25
This was just a lulz proposal to a org that I was told was not even under government control

8.VAT & Import Taxes: Weapons Proposed by Maximus Decimus.Meridius, 8 days ago
Taxes New Old
Value added tax (VAT) 1% 5%
Import Tax 10% 10%
I voted YES result Yes-12, No- 22
I think higher taxes are the answer to the lack of money coming to the government but a lot of congress was consumed with the thought that we needed to further decrease taxes and import tax to get more government revenue. No one seemed to want to actually propose anything though so I did just to try and get them to lower it so that we could see how much money the government would get so that if it was even lower then before then we could be done with the tax 'experiment' and begin to go in the other direction of raising the taxes so maybe the government could eventually get good enough revenue to start helping out MU's.

9. Income Tax Proposed by Maximus Decimus.Meridius, 8 days ago
Income tax change from 5% to 2%
I voted YES result Yes-5, No- 30
same reason as above for doing this proposal, I guess some people thought it was to drastic for them even though I lot of them were saying taxes needed to be even lower.

10.Proposed by Blue And Evil, 7 days ago
No Natural Enemy has been proposed
I voted YES result Yes-22, No- 8
We wanted to end the training war with Ireland as people had time to get TP medals and use there rockets up and the war between Poland and Russia was picking up so it was time to end the 'TW'. However the Irish congress voted not to drop there NE with eUK so that led to a real war being started.

11.VAT & Import Taxes: Food Proposed by Skibbler, 6 days ago
Taxes New Old
Value added tax (VAT) 10% 7%
Import Tax 75% 75%
I voted YES result Yes-19, No- 9
Congress seems kind of capricious and after no debate known to me Skibbler proposed this tax hike even though I only heard people talk about lowering taxes. However higher income taxes is what I wanted so I voted for it.

12. Natural Enemy Proposed by Blue And Evil, 5 days ago
Ireland has been proposed as Natural Enemy.
I voted YES result Yes-29, No- 2
This was proposed since the CP of Ireland told B&E that the Irish congress could not do be controlled and that the eUK could do what ever it wanted so B&E thought that the best way to get Ireland to drop the NE against us was to wipe them.

13. I voted YES for all MPP's proposed

I learned a bit in congress and how eUK operates, I think the way congress is run is rather disorganized and for the most part inactive; the most debate that went on was in the first week of congress which was mainly about what to do internationally.
