[DoE] Meet the Parties - The Black Sheep Party

Day 2,364, 07:22 Published in USA USA by Department of Citizen Affairs

The party we have chosen for today’s article is The Black Sheep Party. The same set of questions was asked to both of the party representatives. In choosing representatives, I simply took anyone from the leadership, Congressional members, and other well-known members of the party.

THE BLACK SHEEP PARTY

For my Black Sheep Party Interview, I did a double interview with eShades and Arrden.

eShades and Arrden

1. Why did you join this Party?

eShades - I started my political life in USWP and was there for at least a year before I realized I really had no reason to stay. I left and was offered some obscure cabinet spot in AMP. I hoped that would give me a reason to stay attached to eRep politics, but it was more or less the same as USWP. I went panty-less (@_@) for a while until The Black Sheep were formed. I joined because it seemed like it would be different from all the other parties.

Arrden - The Blacksheep party was formed from the eAmerican ATO operation of Josh Frost administration. In the very beginning it was a place for our close group of friends. A place of our own, since we did not fit in and did not conform to the receptiveness of the T5 parties.

2. What does this party do for the eUSA as a whole?

eShades - Before becoming top five, the party was just a home for people who really didn't belong anywhere else. After becoming top five...nothing changed. The Black Sheep Party offers a different dynamic for the eUS. There are no "elites" nor are there people whom you see reaching out for power. I think that lets us go for things that eUS citizens actually want, since we're those same everyday players & not behind-the-scene execs with a larger goal.

Arrden - The Blacksheep Party offers a REAL alternative party for eUS citizens who feel they do not fit in or chose not to conform to the standards and rules of the other Top 5 Parties.

3. What are the main principles that guide your party?

eShades - Something I've noticed is that the people in this party speak their mind. If we're not in support of some policy, you'll hear it. I think that helps the party remain helpful, outspoken, and relentless, which should be principles for people who wish to represent others. Above all though, we like to remember this is a game and we try to have fun.

Arrden - Patriotic. Brotherhood. Acceptance. And last but most importantly, Fun.

4. What does this party do for its members?

eShades - We offer a place to call home for people who don't fit in anywhere else. That may not seem like much, but in a game like eRep, having a community is fairly important if you plan on not getting bored. In that regard, we offer the dual benefit of two homes: a party and an MU. Obviously, we have programs and things, but which party doesn't? I don't think our programs define us. It would be cooler if the players themselves represented who we are as a party.

Arrden - Anything in our power. We nurture new players. Give them advice and wisdom. We help all of our members with Weapons and Food upon request. We have also helped our members with currency and Gold to upgrade Training Grounds and such.
Above all the material things, we give our members a place to feel they truly belong. A Brotherhood.

5. What does this party do to get players (especially newer ones) involved?

eShades - Recently, there have been more and more newer players joining the Black Sheep, which is awesome. We're brand new in the top five, so we have a bunch of roles just waiting to be filled. Our media team is a one-man army, so if you're an aspiring writer without anything to write about: BAM, we have news to spread. We're a tight-knit group of players and once you get to know people, you know people. This past election, we ran five brand new Congressman and the other five had from one to five medals. We definitely want to continue and get new blood in Congress, which has always been swamped with veterans doing the same thing every month. A new voice could only help.

Arrden - The Blacksheep is a very social bunch. The only way to make a new player care at all about whats going on in our country as a whole is to make them inquisitive. Sure it's easier to educate and inform. But that does not make one actually care.

6. One line on why a member should join your Party?

eShades - Pfeiffer wouldn't do it, so it has to be a good idea.

Arrden - We don't run with the herd. Take the Black.
