Wars in eRepublik

The topics we are gonna speak about in this article are
1. Starting a War
2. Divisions
3. Campaigns
4. Battles
5. Fighting in a war
6. Combat Orders

1. Starting a War

A war can be started in following ways
1. Proposing a country as Natural Enemy
2. Starting a Resistance War.
3. Air Strike
4. Declaring War on a country

1.1 | Proposing a country as Natural Enemy

^[This will be available for Congressman and Country President in the Administration page]

^[2nd step of Proposing Natural Enemy]

Country President or any of the Congressmen can propose another country which has a common border as a Natural Enemy. If the proposal gets majority positive votes, it will be implemented.
After the Natural Enemy law gets implemented
* A war can opened by the Country President on any of the regions of enemy country which shares a common borders and that too for free of costs.
* A war will be initiated automatically in 24 hours if President doesn't initialize one.
The main advantage of setting a Country as Natural Enemy is that the citizens get a 10% influence bonus on fighting against them. A Natural Enemy can be unset only 7 days after the implementation of the law.

1.2 | Starting a Resistance War

A Resistance War can be started in any of the regions which is occupied by a foreign country. As you can see in the picture above it needs 10 supporters to successfully start a Resistance War. The two requirements for a citizen to support are citizen being in the territory that has been taken over and availability of 1000 CC which should paid to support a Resistance. You will be refunded if the Resistance War is successful. And you cannot support more than one Resistance War at a time.

Some of the other rules to start a Resistance War are
* Region should be under occupation by a foreign country for more than 24 hours.
* The resistance force of the country is not currently fighting a resistance war in another region in the same conquering country.
* The region is not involved in a campaign.
* A citizen who supported a failed Resistance War cannot support a new one for 7 days.

Determination Bonus
The best advantage in Resistance War is the Determination bonus. A Determination Bonus multiplies the influence on a region which depends on number of days it is under the control of foreign country.

^[A Resistance war with Determination Bonus of 1.66]

Influence represents your impact on the Domination Bar in battles. The Determination Bonus only multiplies your Influence, NOT your Damage and Rank Points. Influence from Bombs, Rockets or Guerrilla Fights will NOT be multiplied by the Determination Bonus. Hits done with Damage Boosters and Bazookas are multiplied like normal hits by the Determination Bonus

1.3 | Air Strike

Airstrike is feature to start a war with a country which doesn't share a common border. An Airstrike can be issued by the Country President and gets implemented if the Country has required funds and resources and if majority of the Congress supports it.

The amount of resource and funds requirement may change depending on the wealth of the country. To see how much each country needs you can access its military page.

After an Airstrike on a country is implemented, a war has to be initialized in any of the enemy regions within 24 hours or it will be initialized automatically.

Some points to be noted
1. A country with no regions cannot implement an Airstrike.
2. Unlike Natural enemy, you don't have to wait 7 days for propose a Peace treaty, it could be done at any time.
3. The required items (Food and Currency) can still be donated after the requirements were met, that way they could build up for further use of another airstrike.
4. While a country is engaged in an Airstrike, if the country loses all its regions, the attack will be aborted and the resources will be lost.

1.4 | Declaring War on a country

Declare war is a law that can be proposed by the President of a country and is voted by Congress. The law passes if, after 24 hours, the majority of votes say YES. After passing the law, a new war will be opened with the country war was declared to. War can be declared only if a country shares a common border with the country they want declare war to. This one is the least used feature to initialize a war since it costs gold. Natural Enemy option is used more than this to attack a country with common border.

2 | Divisions

All the battles are divided into the four division battles with each having its own battle.

Division I - Players below Level 34
Division II - Players between Level 35 and 49
Division III- Players between Level 50 and 69
Division IV - Players above Level 70

3 | Campaigns

Campaign is a series of battle which is started as soon as war has been initialized on a region. Campaigns last from 12 hours to 30 hours depending on how many battles are needed to get enough points to win the campaign. The winner of a campaign is the side which first wins 83 points in total. The country which won the campaign can initialize the next war. The points given depends on the divisions.

Division I gets 1 Point if it wins
Division II gets 2 Points if it wins
Division III gets 3 Points if it wins
Division IV gets 5 Points if it wins

4 | Battles

Every campaign has 8-15 battles which last from 1.5 hours to 2 hours depending on how dominant one combatant is and will be closed if the battle lasts for more than 2 hours

The winner of each divisional battle is the side that first reaches over 1800 points, or the one who has more points after 2 hours of battle. Every minute one side has over 50% control will award the side with X number of points where X is:

0-30 minutes into the battle, 10 points at every minute;
31-60 minutes into the battle, 20 points at every minute;
61-90 minutes into the battle; 30 points at every minute;
91-120 minutes into the battle, 60 points at every minute.

If both the attacker and defender gets 1800 points, the defender will be declared as Winner.

5 | Fighting in War

You can fight in war by clicking the 'Fight' button near any of the active wars which will lead you to the selected Battle Page.

Before you start fighting, you need to select which weapon you are going to fight with. You can change the weapons by clicking the button ''

After selecting the weapon, you can click the u to fight. You can fight as long as you have energy remaining and foods to consume.

You can fight for a allied country staying in your home country unless its a Resistance War. If you wish to fight for a country which is not allied, then you can move to any of the regions of the Country or the allies of the country you wish to fight for.

If its a resistance war you have to travel to the country which occupies the region where the war is taking place and select which side you are going to fight for.

6 | Combat Orders

Combat Orders are the CC provided for dealing a specific amount of damage on their side which can be sponsored by a Military Unit. Its usually measured with a specific amount of CC per million damage. You can select a CO or any of the CO if there is more than one CO and get CC depending on the CO set by the MU and amount of damage you have done.

If you have any query regarding the game or the events or anything, you can always post it to ERICA and you will contacting regarding it by a staff of DoE.
