[CP] Ever Onward

Hello Canada, this is my final address as President of our absolutely awesome country.

This past week has been a glorious one. We conducted an airstrike on Italy, a country twice our size and with immense tanking power, and won handily. Our Dutch friends have been freed from Italian occupation and are grateful for our effort. However, let's not pretend we did this solely to free them, we were thirsty for war and the Italian bullies made a convenient target. Certain people doubted we could manage such a feat during a major tournament, but lo and behold Canada defied everyone's expectations. Be proud of all we have accomplished this past week.

Now, we take the fight to Germany. At this very moment, we're in the thick of a desperate skirmish with the Germans in their core territories. The German is afraid, it's once inexhaustible bank lays bare, ravaged by necessity and desperation. We may not win today, but know that we have struck a great blow nonetheless. However, I believe the odds are in our favour to emerge triumphant come the final tally.

By no means was any of this possible as a result of my effort alone. I have had a great team of people behind me and friends in many other countries helping out. We may have had a boring first half of the term, but I am sure we have made up for it at the conclusion. I am a bit a perfectionist, so we couldn't strike until we were assured of victory. Anyone could have spent a third of the treasury to fill our airstrike and then pushed the button to attack some random hellhole. However, there had to be a purpose. We took to liberating the Dutch for that purpose. We also had to ensure we had full allied support. We definitely have that support. I am confident I made the right decision.

There are certain people I would like to give a shout-out too for going above and beyond the call of duty. I would like to thank klop123 for helping out with CO's when I was at work and organizing our mercenary support. Rylde I would like to thank for pitching in with CO money to help us secure victory. We have had our differences, but I am confident Rylde always acts in what he believes are the best interests of our country. I would like to thank NoTie112 and Carapicho11, the Presidents of the Netherlands and France respectively. We have worked together this past week to make this possible. NoTie112 in particular has been the driving force behind our victories, spending some 500k to rout the Italians and Germans during our campaigns and keeping me company on IRC during our close battles. We wouldn't be here without that support and the Dutch have more than earned their liberation. Finally, I would like to thank everyone else who has tanked for us and placed combat orders for us. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming.



Without drawing this out too long, I would like to conclude by thanking Canada for giving me the opportunity to be President of our country. When I started playing many years ago, I never thought I would end up in this position. I realize I lack the charisma of many of our other leaders, so I simply relegated myself to support positions. I believe that is where I am best suited, so in the future I would like to continue doing that. However, being President has given me new perspectives and experience I can use in the future. For now, though, I plan to enjoy the rest of the summer. I will hang around to advise the incoming President on the war situation and help as necessary. With all the chaos we've caused in Europe, heaven knows they will need all the help they can get. I will also continue to run the National Citizen Supply Program for divisions 1 and 2 players using donations as needed. I hope you all had fun and will continue to have fun as we continue our romp in Europe.
