[AMP] Halfway Home

Good Evening AMP,

Let me start off, by thanking you all for helping me have what I consider to be a productive term. I set the bar very high for myself. Perhaps too high, but I am a firm believer in aiming as high as you can, and then doing your best.

The goals I laid out were as follows:
Secure the NCP
Help ensure that the Libertarians remained secure
Win the most Congressional Seats
Win the CP Elections
Attain Top Ranking
Strengthen the Party from Within

The first two, were quite simple. Beating Ajay at his own game is by far, the easiest thing I’ve ever done. Literally. He wastes all his votes in the morning (protip: because they are all foreign), giving us ample time to muster a counter offensive. As for the Libs, they were secure, and are now thriving. Kudos to s0beit, and all of the fine Libs over in the Libs.

I had hoped that we would be able to win the most Congressional Seats this month, and although we did not, I feel as though we made progress. We were hamstrung by the invasion, and lost a few winnable states, before any votes were even cast. We ended up with 14 Seats, 10 belonging to the AMP. Special credit goes to Jack Mensley and his amazing Mass Mailing Team. They sent out thousands of messages in support of Congress, and for that I am deeply thankful.
We didn’t finish 1st, but we did come pretty close. And, we had 1 fewer total vote than the USWP. If we can mobilize our votes better, we can wreck them. It’s that simple. Besides, killing Zombies, is easy.

Die Fiends! Die!

Also, as you know, we did not win the Presidential Elections. GoalieBCSC jumped out to a quick lead, and never looked back. We held our ground, at about 100-120 votes down, but could never catch up. I will admit that this one perplexes me somewhat, but when there are thousands of votes at stake, things are largely out of our control. Such is life, and we will try even harder next month.

The final two, go hand in hand. And although we will not obtain the top rank this month, I am very confident that it is a reasonable goal. My Chief of Staff has been vigorously spearheading a new recruitment program, and along with other members of the Round Table, will garner us new members. This will secure the American Military Party’s position now, and (more importantly) in the future.

In the days leading up to the Party President Primary, I asked myself if I wanted to run for re-election. There will be many challenges for the next Party President. We will be facing an occupied nation, making Congressionals a mess. And, the 25th falls during the Thanksgiving break, a time when many people are at home, enjoying their friends and family. It will be a challenging month.

But I am ready for it

I learned so much from my first term, and I made progress. But I didn’t finish. There is still work to be done, and I want to be the one to do it. This is not a criticism of Cleveland, he is an awesome person, and has some amazing ideas of his own.

But, this is something that I want to finish. And something that I know I am ready for. I gained a lot of experience in October. And I want to put it to use, for the good of the American Military Party once more.
