Would you be the hero ?

Day 2,583, 05:39 Published in Norway Poland by Tangerine Dream

Yesterday i entered the final level of division 1 (34) which made me think some things about the importance of players/fighters in this game, and the significancy of them in a battle without the existence of real money.

When i started this game it was with the previous state of the divisions and i was fully informed, about all the things that i had to take care, so my character might be as strong as it could be.

One of the first rules was that i should have gathered all the gold i could without spending it nowhere else but only for upgrading my training grounds and only when there is an offer of discount.

The only experience points that i was allowed to take was for working and training. That way i was able to stay as longer i could in every level in division 1 in order to build my strength.

With these two main rules i started my Odyssey in eRepublik.
Those days the only income was the money from my work and the gold you could take from the hard worker medal, the super soldier medal and anything you could take from a battle hero. I have to mention here that those were the days where you could claim a BH just by throwing a rocket or even with some bazooka hits. Since the latest updates in divisions, nowadays, this is just a utopia for players with small strength. After the recent changes, a huge factor for those players is the guerilla fights that can be crucial for making a great deal of damage with the less possible xp.

I am not a player that spends real money in this game except some packs that i bought in order to be a full train player as soon as possible.
I also had lot of help from my mentor in the game and other friends that helped me achieve my goal and i am grateful to them until today.

Even with all that help, eventually it took me months to start participating in battles with a decent influence and good chance for a BH.
Without them i don't know and can't imagine the time i would have needed to achieve all this or the money i would have to spend for it.

At this moment i have 60000+ strength, i had the pleasure to be part of great battles and be the MVP in them for my country, i had the honor to be part in joint operations as a valuable member with a great amount of damage, i had the chance to win over 500 battle heroes and meet a lot of other players that were doing what i did. Farming....
Now i am on the verge of division 2 and i firmly believe that i can be as valuable as i am now in division 1 but moving in the third division is the beginning of the end.

Even if a player that has built his account with the proper caution and managed to made him a small "tank" in third division everyone starts to feel that strength isn't the only thing that matters. Then is when you are starting to understand that there is something that no matter how hard you will try, how hard you will work or how much strength - eventually - you will have, VISA is unbeatable.

And when you reach the fourth division you have to be ready to embrace the fact that, if you are not willing or able to spend real money, you will only be a food fighter.
No matter how many battle heroes you will have, how many energy bars or weapons have you stocked or how much you want it, there is no chance of getting anything unless you pay for it.

Finally and to get to a point of conclusion i believe that every player that has no intention of spending real money for this game must put himself in front of a dilemma and take a decision about what he/she wants to be further on in this act.

A star/hero or an extra?

For every choice there are pros and cons.
For example, creating a new account from scratch might have all that thrilling emotions of agony, excitement, expectation and the fulfillment of goals that everyone has set for himself -and eventually to become a HERO and a great fighter- must come with the necessity of acceptance of making all those sacrifices i mentioned above.

On the other hand continuing until the end as a decent fighter that can contribute not more than his warehouse allows him to offer, comes with the fact that he may be part of great epic battles and a significant addition for the final result as a companion or brother in arms but he/she will never eventually will be the HERO of a battle or a campaign. And that is a fact because at this point the only thing that matters is your wallet or your credit card.

I have a long way ahead of me yet until i reach that point and i haven't decide what it will be my choice but i can tell you two things for sure.

First of all i am glad that i shared my thoughts with you and secondly i hope i won't be playing this game for so long. 🙂

Best Regards to everybody,
