WIIFM and new company resurces
moomoohead
There is an important business principle called WIIFM, it stands for What Is In It For Me. I decided to try to apply it to the new company bonus system. Before I get in to the details I want to make a big disclaimer. I am not an expert on this stuff, so please correct anything I get wrong in the comments.
I have been self-sufficient in this game since almost the beginning. I did not do this the smart way by building up a large portfolio of companies. I have created wealth by buying gold. Going forward I plan to be even more lazy and would expect that personal strategy to continue. But back to the purpose of this article, how do the new changes affect me.
So first questions, what is the net output of me working as a manager in Ireland before the resource war?
.....Number of Companies 65
.....Number of companies work in each day 26
.....Country Bonus Food 80% Guns 40%
.....Tax Rate 1%
.....Work tax paid 20.80 iep
.....Output from working 10Q7 guns, 160Q2food, 640Q3 food 160Food Raw
.....Value of goods 314.2iep
Net Benefit 293.4iep
So Second question, what is the expected net output of me working as a manager in Ireland after the resource war?
.....Number of Companies 65
.....Number of companies work in each day 26
.....Country Bonus Food 55 Weapons 80
.....Pollution rate 5% pure guess based on size
.....Regional bonus 15% just a guess
.....Total new bonus Food 65 Guns 90
.....Tax rate 1%
.....Work tax paid 25.70iep
.....Output from working 18 Q7 guns, 130Q2food, 520Q3 food 130Food Raw
.....Value of goods 388.10iep
.....Cost of Moving 20iep
Net Benefit 342.40
So as you can see the new system results in a slightly better deal for me but not going to get me rich.
One thing this does not factor in and will affect things a lot is future supply and demand. I see it being effected at least two ways. First some people might not even bother to move each day to work as a manager and thus production will drop. Production drops and prices rise. I personally think this will be a less factor because ultra-active players will do it and they are the bulk of producers. Second is if the global average productivity drops the supply will go down and prices go up. Somme countries had bad results in the war and there productivity will go down.
My thoughts tell me what you think please.

there are just too many 'if's' & 'but's'. and admins promised 'a series of changes'. even a small detail in their patches could change everything
They gave the equations this is calculated by. Only thing I guessed on was regional and pollution factors. These will not have a huge effect because they are addition and subtraction factors percents not multiples in equation.
If I get time I mean to calculate a few other countries with there bonuses and work tax rate for my situation.
ye but 'ifs & buts' don't come from known equations. they come from unknown mechanisms. while they're rolling out their new mechanics, even a small unmentioned change could have an explosive outcome.
everything teeters on travel costs and the new industry.
pollution rate only 5 percent? mm..
also rather than use moving ticket, i think using cc is more better idea
distance of between cork and louth(right? XD) is relatively short
changed moving cost from ticket to distance. Cork and Louth are very far apart in RL, I lived outside Louth and could not understand some of them in Cork, lol. Guessed 5% because Ireland is small and does not have max bonuses, could be anywhere between 0 and 25%.
in order to move between the regions for max bonuses, it seems you will have to buy a 2nd Holding.
you might also consider not buying a 2nd Holding, running all your business from 1 region, and just eat the loss of region bonus on 1 industry type. you'd still have the National Bonus assuming the regions are connected. if moving costs are too high (and region bonus low) it might be more efficient, if slightly risky.
im not certain of the national bonuses some are saying it depends on the region of the country where the HC is located however I dont think one can inherit better bonuses? can one. traveling cost will be minimal. i would suggest one clean slate holding company on zero region bonus region . i am going to do this in serbia and one in ireland and one in a high region bonus thats 50 gold. planning to buy packs like crazy to get me near 300 gold.
i produce 440 q7's a day 2 q2 houses and 2 q1 houses plus 11000 wrm and about 10000 q1 food = 9530 cc per day. but i have 1000 work tickets at present which i will probably max out.
for me basically the region bonus seems like a rotten carrot atm. it seems high region bonuses will have high pollution. as in a normal city. thats why business devolved here in the 70's and Spring was created to spread the pollution. i think it will work the same in erep. big industrial region = high pollution.
i can afford to experiment so suggest you guys sit back for a week or so till we figure out what will be best. i think the region bonus will add at max a further 10% to the current 70% bonus.
i will be looking forward to your article on the results of that experiment eagerly.
Explain to me your first paragraph again, I did not follow it please.
