Which Company Should I Work For?

Day 898, 17:49 Published in USA Ireland by deadlittlepuppy

As a company owner I've noticed that many people do not distinguish the cost of working for a Q3 company versus a Q4 or Q5 company, even though the costs to work for that higher Q company are considerably higher. They simply take the job that offers the highest wages. So let's take a look at the costs of working at various quality companies. (prices and wages are from the eUS market on day 895, wages are the highest offer when I checked)

Q1 food $0.64
Q2 food $1.36
Q3 food $3.19
Q4 food $4.45
Q5 food $8.34

Q1 gift 1.92

Assuming you have a Q3 house and work at a Q5 land company for $38.60 and have a starting wellness of 96 before working and training. Once you add in wellness lost from training, you will lose 6 wellness points per day, suddenly you are down down to 90. With Q3 food and a Q3 house, you will gain 3.6 wellness points overnight. You will then have to buy 2.4- Q1 gifts per day to maintain your wellness. (or 2 gifts one day and 3 gifts the next) for a total cost of $7.79 per day. Net pay after taxes, food and gifts, $21.93

whew!!! hard work, expensive and too tired to eat

Now lets take the same situation and only a Q3 company. Pay $34.5. Cost to actually increase your wellness by 6 tenths, 3.19. Net pay after taxes, food and NO gifts, $26.57 You actually take home MORE money and INCREASE your wellness working for the Q3 company.

The point of all this? Think about how much it costs you to work at high Q companies. This is even more true for newer players with lower Q houses! If you don't have a house, or only a Q1 house, you should probably only work at Q1 and Q2 companies! Always use a wellness calculator before you take a new job!
