Week Two: From the Chairman's Desk

From the Chairman’s Desk

Greetings comrades, members and friends of SFP,

We survived our third Congressional elections together. For the first month in the history of SFP, we stood on our own. We stood on our two feet and submitted a Congressional lineup of solely SFP members. We didn’t run anyone else’s members, but solely our own. (s/o to Custer & gang for their support though).

However, I’ll be the first to admit the result wasn’t what we, or I, wanted. We finished 5th in the number of Congressional seats received and received 10 Congressional seats for our proportional votes. Some of you may ask why we received so little votes this month.

The answer could be combination of many different factors, but the blame resides solely on me. It is my fault that we did not get the votes that we needed this month. I didn’t get my own media out, and I didn’t prepare our SFPOM guys enough to be ready to go. Thanks to J.A. Lake for a valiant last minute effort on media, when I dropped the ball. I didn’t utilize the MM tools at my disposable, but thanks to Captain Recks and GoTJ for getting that together in my absence. Things could have been done better, I could have organized things better, and I could have led you better.

All in all, I am still happy with the 10 Congressmen we have this month. I was happy to see two of our newest members be elected, as well as some first time Congressmen. The usual suspects were intermittently spread out through the primary as far as voting goes, and I’m happy to see that our members rewarded activity and thoughtfulness.

However, our eLives move on. And now we look ahead to the CP elections. I will be opening the primary soon, so SFP members look for that soon on the forums.

I encourage all CP candidate hopefuls to open a thread in our forums so we can debate, talk and support you in the elections on the 5th!

Thanks to all my SFP comrades, without you I would most certainly be lost. Let’s look forward to the next week and selecting our CP candidate, as well as continuing to spread the values that make us SFP.

Sincerely,

Tom Cauchon
