The Gallian News first article - An introduction and Congress election

Day 2,259, 12:46 Published in Norway Japan by Sinon

Hi everyone! My nickname in this game is BloodTrail, or BT for short.
I'm kind of like an "otaku" as they call it in Japanese (2D-girls addicted kiddo and manga and anime lover). Still, I'm also quite normal I guess, except I've got a bit different interests than what most people are used to 🙂
This means, expect some 2D pics in my future articles, as the pictures in this one :3

First of all I would like to thank those of you who gave your vote to the NGP party. It was unfortunate that all the other candidates from the party, along with several candidates from the other parties were dropped out because we lost the regions where those people ran their candidacy from. But this just means that those of us who remain must do our best for the future of eNorway, which is exactly what I’ve been thinking a lot about these last hours (actually dreamt about eRepublik and my position as part of the congress last night).
So, now many of you may be thinking; “but aren’t you totally inexperienced with the political system?” or “several people have said the same things before, why should you be better than them?”.
And you may be completely right! It is true that I’m inexperienced with the political part of this game, which is why Joshua has promised to help me along the way with some guidance. In addition, just because I lack in experience in this particular game, it doesn’t mean that I have no particular background within politics from other games, which in my case I’ve earned a lot of during the past 5-6 years.

But still, my background won’t be enough to solve perhaps the biggest problem as of late; the inactivity from the government as a whole. Because what value does words have, when there is no action following them? I have been thinking about this for a long time now, which lead me to the following conclusion:
- The reason why our government keep having the same members and inactivity time after time may not be because they cling to their positions and force new members out of the government, but because eNorway has a lack of recruitment campaigns and guidance for new players whom could then take their place!

To prove this I started my second unofficial recruitment campaign about an hour before I went to sleep last night and got two new members almost immediately. What they soon responded to me was that the game was difficult to understand, quite complicated and last but not least very confusing. And to be honest with you all, just where exactly is a new player who may not want the attention on the ingame chat from the very beginning, supposed to go to find some guidance? I myself have tried the official eRepublik forum, which has so far been a massive disappointment. I didn’t even find any article explaining what a congress member like myself was supposed to do, except giving a vote in different polls in the congress.
This lack of proper and easy accessible guidance may actually be the biggest threat to our country in my opinion. Therefore I’ve decided to spend my term as a congressman focusing on the following:

1. The creation of eNorways first proper eUniversity, with both an English and a Norwegian section.
2. A mentor program run directly by the government.
3. Official recruitment campaigns put together by the government.
In addition to solving some of our biggest problems, this may lead to an increase in our military power, which means it will be easier for us to take back and hold our regions in the future. This also mean an economical boost to eNorway, both in taxation and future production and by having more players around, we may be able to get more fresh blood in the government, while also being able to fight against future PTO attempts much more efficiently, as we would be able to gather more votes against the PTO party than we currently are able to.

Even though I will be focusing on this, I am still only a congressman. I will probably be quite limited to what I may achieve, but at least I will do my best!

Thanks for taking your time reading this really long article and I hope it has helped in gaining some trust from all of you 🙂

Best regards,
-BT
