It's been an interesting week for me both in game, and in my real life. On the 5th I once again came up well short in a head to head match-up with Gnilraps. I'm not going to even try to play it off, the second loss stung. With the loss came the realization that my Presidential window (at least for the foreseeable future) has closed. On the 7th at approximately 5:45 AM, my wife and I woke up and went to the hospital. She was at that time 9 months pregnant and her inducement date had arrived. I'm happy to report that afternoon she gave birth to a strong, healthy, and beautiful baby girl. Both my wife and daughter are doing well.





It's not uncommon for a failed CP candidate to quit the game in some way or another. Some rage quit, others simply fade into obscurity. Politics at the national level can be brutal, and more than a little cutthroat. It's difficult to gather support without stepping on a grudge that's long been nursed by one group/individual against another group/individual. I myself am not innocent of this as I've stepped on more than a few toes over the last year. My two CP losses combined with a new daughter have led some to ask me if I will be leaving the game as well. A few individuals in my Party have asked me if I'll be giving them the fingerguns treatment.





The answer to both questions is no. While I admit disappointment at another loss in the CP arena, that feeling is tempered by relief. With a new baby and CP April would have been a very tough month. Getting that shiny CP medal isn't the endgame for me. As such falling short in my attempts to reach it do not constitute grounds for making an exit. So it is that I move on from Presidential aspirations, bid Gnil the best of luck during the remainder of his administration, and wish similar luck to future candidates for said office.





I had planned on staying busy this month, and have found myself a little bored with the sudden drop off in required activity. So a request from Gnil and IndexInfinity that I take the reins of Homeland Security was a welcome one. Having something to do is never a bad thing. ATO as demonstrated so aptly last month is still essential.





The PTO is a shell of itself, but we are just one Rogue Party President away from major regression. All it takes is someone lusting to increase their power, or in the case of last month someone who believed they would be sending a message to the establishment. Serbia is very good at seizing control of nations via the political module. They're very patient, and well practiced in appearing benign until the moment to strike arrives.





Prior to last month the remnants of the Serbian PTO had been publishing articles professing a desire to achieve normalization. They said to any and all that would listen that they weren't a threat. We love the eUSA, we just want to be a part of it. Please stop taking our Party from us, etc. The lie was exposed when they hijacked the Congressional ballot of WTP. A rather transparent article pretending at confusion over those events followed shortly after. If anyone actually believes that the Serbians didn't understand that trying to subvert the Congressional slate of another Party would be perceived as a hostile act then there's no help for them.





Taking the AFA has gone on in an unbroken chain now for nearly a year. Stewie, Derphoof, Saraht0ga, Josh Frost, Evry, Evil_Elvis, Artela, Henry William French, and Deepchill have all served in the capacity of being the ATO candidate for the AFA. This month I have selected myself to to fill this role. I have no doubt the remnants of the PTO will cry that they're being persecuted. It is my hope that no one will swallow that after recent events. I would ask the parties to work to get non official candidates to drop off their ballots and message their members with voting instructions.
