SpirTus: The Plans

Day 2,843, 13:17 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Spir Tus

Time for me to show you my plans! The elections are almost there and if you haven't read my last article, I will be running for Country president. Hereby I present you my plans for next month! Tomorrow evening I will publish my team to you as well! I will try to keep it as short and clear as possible, without leaving too much information out.

Ministry of Home Affairs

Traditionally, this is a ministry where we have a MoHa who will accept or deny new applicants to our country. This term will be no difference. There is nothing special to say here. We will roughtly continue the immigration policy of the last couple of months.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs

I can't say much about this yet. I have to admit the affairs handled in this ministry will be completely new to me. Also I wasn't in the government or in congress for the past month, so I am not fully up to date about the current foreign affairs. But of course, I will make sure there are people in this department knowing what to do and how to do it. I've spoken with a lot of people about FA, and I will continue the current course. We will focus with the FA policy on our closest neighbours and good MPP ally's.

Ministry of Defense

There won't be much new happening in the other ministries. Instead, I will focus completely on Defense. We have suffered a lot from agressive airstrikes and backstabbing friends, but we are still here on the map. Of course this will be also priority number one in my term. But the fact we are still here, is not thanks to our Defenses. Our MPP's and money made the wins possible. Thankfully we have had good FA and Finance teams (and of course major support from the own money of the people (you) themselves!!). I will focus on trying to find ways to improve our defenses. The attention will be on our national military unit, the Dutch Armed Forces. In my opinion, we have made a lot of progress in DAF the last year, but I think some more attention is needed. The sword structure was introduced some time ago. I would like to see what worked and what didn't, and how we can improve this. I will set up a group of people who are very experienced and very motivated to revisit the structure and organisation of DAF. We will talk about the problems there are and come up with solutions for them.

I will give you some of my own ideas in advance, so you get an idea what I'm talking about. The roles of the captains are unclear and undervalued/underappreciated. I would like to make this function more important, by making clear what each captain has to do and also check the captains about what they actually are doing. We need good motivated people to be captains, so we can help the soldiers of DAF to be an army. We have to make remove inactive captains (like me! 😛) and replace them with people who we help to be a great captain. Maybe it costs us more effort to say exactly what they have to do, but it will be less trouble for the captains to do what they should do. I would also like to give the Captains the education they need so they can grow to Commanders some day. We can't expect our current commanders to be here for ever. This brings me to another point. I would like to create a slightly bigger Commander group. This means there will be just two commanders ingame, but there are also a couple of others who can interchange with one another when this is needed. We have to aim for active commanders, especially in times of war. The commander group is a way to ensure this. It also will create hopefully an extra incentive to become a good captain. Last but not least I would like to bridge the gap between soldiers and politicians. I assume most of you know what I mean with this. Shortly sai😛 Soldiers are too much focused on themselves, and have no eye for their country. Politicians are too much focused on mud-throwing (also known as politics) and problem-solving, and have no eye for the individual. DAF is one of the two places where most of this game is situated. This is the habitus of the soldier and I will try to give him the opportunity to have more interest in our country. In the end this means informing the soldier better about things happening in our country. We can use the DAF feed and the Regiment group chats for this.

But as I said these ideas are examples of the things I will be talking about with a lot of people this month. Ideas of one man aren't suited to implement right away without any consideration. So maybe you will see some features of these ideas back if I get elected, or maybe you won't see any. We will see what is possible and what isn't.

Ministry of Finances

We've used a lot of money the last couple of months to fight our enemies and get back our own soil. I have no special plans for the MoF, but I would like to keep an eye on our money. This means I will try to not use too much of it. Or, better said, I will tell the MoF to let me not use too much of it.

Ministry of Recruitment & Coaching

Bringing the 'R' back in MoRC. I don't know why, it just sounds better and the main task is more Recruitment nowadays than Coaching. There are a few things the MoRC will do when I get elected as CP. I've spoken with some MoRC and MoI experts and they told me the distinction between the two ministries. They established a good list of things the two ministries do. I will take over this list and give my MoRC and MoI exactly this as their jobs. For the Ministry of Recruitment & Coaching, this means:
- Writing and publishing Coaching articles
- Rewarding the Forum Registration bonus
- Sending new citizens the new citizen message
- Creating fun contests/lotteries/quizzes

Ministry of Information

This newest reintroduced Ministry is a valuable asset to the government in my opinion. That's why I will keep it. The jobs of this Ministry are:
- Writing and publishing Mid term and End term reports
- Keep track of the debates and voting procedures in congress
- Publishing articles with extra information about unclear situations.

Ministry of General Affairs

The Ministry of General Affairs is just a fancy title to give an explanation about the things Me and my VP will do. Of course, our job is to manage the other ministries. I want to create more team spirit in my government, so this means all ministries will have more contact with eachother. Even the SSoRC will be involved with the doings of the FA team. I think this will help other ministries to stay motivated and it will also give others the opportunity to learn about different governmental roles. I will be concentrating on the Defense plans, while my VP will be more focused on FA. But more about this, tomorrow!
