Requiem for a Dream - On The Netherlands & Poland

Day 2,459, 06:27 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by NoTie112

Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,

Those who have been in the eNetherlands in the last couple of days might have noticed that our eCountry is in chaos for no appropriate reason (yet). What we have here is an occupied country, anger at our foreign policy (especially with our occupants/landlords Poland), several responsible individuals making them self look ridiculous by instigating personal conflicts and throwing around swear words and insults in Congress and in the game itself, former Dutch citizens seeing reason to involve themselves in their former country to fight their political battles once again and severable honourable citizens once again proclaiming to leave the country in these circumstances.

Just stop being silly,

The truth is that the only sensible discussion here - our relations with Poland - are spoiled by individual ambitions and conflicts, therefore they're hardly worth discussing from here on. We've had a treaty with Poland for ages, in which we ceded them 2 regions and were promised our other 2 regions (Poland has been a mammoth we simply couldn't face, not even with guerilla actions). Recently, due to miscommunication we've seen Poland conquer our entire country and are yet to receive our 2 promised regions. They have essentially broken a treaty, a disappointing diplomatic fact. The reality of today forces us to be amiable towards Poland, though. A new diplomatic treaty is being negotiated on, according to reliable sources, and will soon appear in Congress.

The recent issues with Poland has of course triggered the covered anger which is in many of our patriotic souls. But for the same reason as our patriotic leaders years ago decided to enter the path of collaboration with Poland, we will need to do the same this time around for the better of our country. I therefore won't support calls for revolt in the current circumstances. Instead, I propose an agenda of disguising our country as a potent force, by temporarily forgetting the nuance of only have 2 regions and focussing on fighting wars (like we did in Norway months ago), showing more backbone to Poland (pretend we're on the same level, instead of a master - puppet relation) and other more pressing matters. Sadly, I haven't been able to see this vision in the recent governments.

I've also seen calls to impeach president Valeyard. Such calls are inappropriate at this very moment, as impeachments should only be reserved for grave errors or unfit individuals. While I don't agree on some actions and statements made by Valeyard (accompanied by curses and swear words), I see no reason for such an heavy repercussion yet. However, if we were to have no Congress this month (a feat, considering we've had Congress for nearly a year now under Country Presidents of all political factions), it's clear there will be consequences for all of us.

Kind regards,
