Ratatoskhr introduction

Greetings fellow EDutchmen,

I decided to give the newspapger part of this game a try, so lets see how long I enjoy doing this.

Important for you to know is that odds are I won't be doing much on actual Erepublic itself. Not much on the politics in the game as I am not exactly on the ''in'' group that actually knows what is going on. This will be much more an informal blog for whoever wishes to read it.

Let me start off by explaining the name of this paper.

Ratakoskhr refers to germanic mythology.

According to the Prose Edda, the world we know is part of a universal tree, the Yggerdasil. On the top of this tree there is an eagle, and between the eagle's eyes there is an hawk. At the bottem of the tree there is a great Wyrm (think dragon) who gnaws at the roots.

Now Ratakosk is the name of a squirrel, who runs from the birds on top to the wyrm at the bottem. He brings gossip and spreads misinformation, and causes quarrel between these two for no real reason.


I named this paper in the honer of this rodent. For I consider it important that between the newspapers that give actual information and focus on the game, there needs to be more that give room for other forms of communication. We need the squirrel to poke fun and cause some strife, for strife is essential in any community worthy of the name.

I plan to write a great deal more, I hope some body in the great nation of eNetherlands likes what I have to say, or perhaps takes offence. Either way can bring this nation together.
