Political Hotspot

Day 2,583, 07:54 Published in United Kingdom Canada by JQXZ

Welcome to the fourth edition of Political Hotspot.

This time, party membership has been largely stable, with some parties losing members, and some gaining members, but with no real overall decline. The TUP is rising and rising, now having twenty more members than the second largest party, the UKPP.

A new party has entered the top ten, The United Sovereign Party UK, which has grown from two members to six since it's leader stood in this month's presidential election. Rebellion has been pushed right out of the top ten, down to number thirteen.

Party Presidential Elections:

Huey George, the longstanding and respected leader of the WRP, has once again won, with over three-quarters of the vote, despite a challenge from Aleksander V. Popovik, for the leadership of the Workers Rights Party.

At the TUP, the UK's fastest growing party, Bohemond4 just beat mwcerberus, both getting about one third each.

BaronChris was re-elected as leader of the UKPP, with more than half the votes.

WookieO beat gali2332 to become the new leader of UKRP.

KieranB retained the leadreship of the PCP, though not with the backing of a majority.

Professor J. Moriarty was the only candidate at The Real Spamicans, so naturally he got 100%.

Same for Michael Ludgate at New Era.

And the same for Sir Jimmy Saville at Every Single One.

At TUSPUK, the smallest party to have a proper contest with more than one candidate, William Ross won, however there was a tie with XLDJ.

No other parties had more than one candidate (yes I have checked them all!). At Corrupternment, and The Friendship Club, the only candidate got zero votes, but was still elected leader. Such is the politics of smaller parties!

Many parties suffer from low turnout, with some having turnout of less than 50%.
