The political instabilities in Nigeria have forced thousands of citizen to leave their nation and to seek for a new home elsewhere. A citizen seeking for asylum in Sweden who does not want to read his name in a newspaper told the Fennoscandian "The situation is severe. We are experiencing famines and people are going to raid their neighbors homes for food. The black market offers weapons but no food. Every day you wake up some friends got shot. I cannot bear that situation any longer. I hope that I will make new friends in Scandinavia."

The Nigerian Army

The government is not able to contain raids and plundering citizen. Civil war is an appropriate word to describe the situation. As the government has now stopped paying the army the Nigerian Air Force announced to defect to Svalbard by tomorrow if the salaries will not be paid. An officer told the Fennoscandian under the grant of anonymity "We did not obtain any payments for 2 months now. I have a wife and 4 children. How am I supposed to feed them, if I get no wage? My comrades are thinking similar and if we will not get our payment by tomorrow evening, then we will leave this country and move to Svalbard." Asked why the Air Force chose Svalbard he explained "The Spitsbergen Treaty allows us to open business there. We are planning to set up a new airline up there. The UK signed the Spitsbergen Treaty in 1920 and by that time Nigeria was a part of the UK. So legally that Treaty applies to Nigeria as well."

Some of the tanks deployed to Svalbard are US M1 Abrams

Meanwhile, in Norway the government has started a call for donations in order to supply the Nigerian newcomers. "We are expecting between 20 and 40 thousand people to arrive by tomorrow evening. This amount of people will put the capabilities of Svalbard to the very edge of its capacity. We are in close cooperation with the Red Cross and other Human Right organizations. Our plan is to set up refugee camps there in order to give a temporary home to the Nigerians." Asked how it is planned to defend the fugitives against polar bears he answered "We have mobilized the army and in addition we do have Australian troops there. Furthermore we have contacted our allies. Be assured should anybody be attacked there, we do have all needed firepower to let all hell break lose."

"We already collected hundreds of units of food from Swedish citizen as well as from German citizen and could them hand over to the International Red Cross. In addition citizen of the United States sent us weapons with a letter stating 'To preserve our values and protect our freedom, America needs the good guys to step up like never before'." says the responsible Journalist of the Fennoscandian "It was signed by a certain W.L. We were a bit confused about that and we were not really sure what to do with this donation, so we handed it over to Forsvaret"
