New Method for Issuing Orders

Effective immediately, daily orders will be posted on the private Marines forum. All Marines must have access to this forum. Posting orders on the forum will not replace the ECHO system. CO's and LT's should continue to ECHO orders and Marines should continue to acknowledge the receipt of ECHO's. This is important primarily for the distribution of weapons and confirmation of activity. Orders posted on the forum should be as complete as possible but if you have questions, continue to direct them to your immediate superior officer or CO. Command officers are typically also available on IRC.

When you receive orders, you should immediately request weapons. We are continuing to work with the Quartermaster General to rapidly process weapons and tickets requests. This process is still developing so please be patient.

Also, please understand that just because a conflict has begun involving one of our allies, we will not necessarily be deployed. That is a decision to be made by the Commander-in-Chief. However, in the interest of increasing wellness, experience and rank, Marines are generally free to fight in conflicts on behalf of our allies at their own expense. However, you should be mindful that you discuss it with an officer so we are aware and this will not excuse you from participating in deployments. If you are consistently missing deployments because you are fighting in undeclared conflicts, you will be removed from the Marines. We are not a Mercenary Group.

Recruitment

Currently, there are no open positions in the Marine Corps. However, there are soldiers interested in joining. They are being placed on the recruitment list and will be assigned based on availability.

Marine-Owned Businesses

Supplying the equipment used by the Marines is expensive to the government and cost considerations limit our deployments. Several Marines own and operate businesses to supply the Corps with equipment at reduced rates by employing Marines to work at reduced wages. These are not intended to be long-term employment but rather we are asking Marines to work a few days at minimal pay in order to build a stockpile of supplies for our own use.

There is a forum thread regarding this topic. If you have a business that manufactures raw materials or finished products necessary for waging war (diamonds, oil, iron or gifts, tickets, weapons) and are intersted in participating in a program of "Marine-powered business," then post your business information on the thread. We are asking that Marines with manufacturing and land skills contact these Marine owners and arrange for a few days spent making the items we need. Your commanders have been investing time, gold and USD into improving our supplies, we're asking you to contribute as well.


Time Zone / RL Country

Our eMarines reside all over the RL Earth. We all have RL responsibilities and lives outside of eRepublik. This makes real-time communication difficult at times. This is one of the primary reason why important information is now being put on the forums. Help us improve communication by being aware of this. If you need a question answered, ask another LT or CO, post your question on the forum or look for someone on IRC. We will overcome our challenges best when we look for solutions instead of waiting for someone else to solve our problems for us.
