Marine Corps Post 05-January-2009

Day 412, 06:26 Published in USA USA by Black Academi HQ

The following is a re-post of an article from Bravo Company Briefings reprinted for the entire Marine Corps.

"There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure." - Gen. Colin Powell

Preparation

The Marine Corps strives to perfect organization. To that end, we must improve our communication both up and down the chain of command. There are several methods of communication used by Marines and we should each be available to use them to the best of our time and ability.

1. We have created a forum for Marines to share ideas and information. If you are a Marine, you should be registered on the forum. No exceptions. We will not be putting the forum URL in public media for security purposes. If you are not registered or do not know the URL, contact your LT or CO. We intend to make the forums active. They exist as a resource to improve you as an individual soldier and the Corps as a whole.

2. Many Marines use Internet Relay Chat to facilitate immediate communication to organize and coordinate the distribution of equipment and the execution of battle plans. We are on rizon.net. Go to chatroom #us and ask for a Marine to give you the room for the Marines or PM your LT or CO for chat info. There is also information about IRC on the forums.

3. The Marine Corps SO (eUSA Marines), your Company Commander and your Platoon Commanders all have newspapers. Information in these will be general and will not include any classified or sensitive information. You should subscribe to each as they will contain information specific to each comabt unit.

4. In-game PM's are vital. Generally, combat orders are issued using the ECHO system on PM. This is not as effective as IRC and I will endevour to put battle specific orders on the forums as well. A reminder that ECHO's go both ways. Not just down the chain, but are echo'd back. It is important for commanders to know who has received orders. Primarily, this helps us in effectively distributing weapons.

5. Emails are optional. I only tend to use emails for tanks when we are attempting to organize and tank rush and someone can't be reached in other ways.

6. Just a reminder that shouts should not contain any information that you wouldn't want the enemy to know.

Hard Work

A reminder that Marines are expected to train every day. Further, we are now tracking battle damage. There is no excuse for Marines not fighting in every general engagement. We need to raise the rank of every Marine. We are at war with an enemy that does not possess numeric superiority, but is largely more experienced and battle-hardened. Increasing your strength and in-game rank is vital to America's war-fighting. We understand that daily fighting was difficult for some during the Holidays, but we are expecting a renewed vigor from the Marine Corps with the start of 2009. Marines that do not maintain training, do not respond to communications and do not particpate in combat will be removed to the inactive roster or reassigned to the Army or National Guard.

Learning from Failure

Successes in the current global conflict have been hard to find rececntly. It is demoralizing. But we must make ourselves an example to the citizens of the eUnited States. We should be encouraging all citizens to help the war effort in any way they can. Our foe is powerful and is emboldened by their victories. They will not stop now. Their lust for power and domination will continue until it reaches our shores. Many have said, "PEACE can never invade the US" but we have seen the blood flowing in Argentina where a Q5 defense system and the strongest Atlantis tanks could not hold back the hordes. We need to stand up and unite now, not just for the sake of our allies, but before we are fighting them in our own backyard. You have read their taunts and trolling in our media. Every victory fans the flames of their desire to conquer us. It is time we stopped finger-pointing, in-fighting and recriminations and start looking for realistic solutions. We need to look at our failures and our successes to develop strategies to turn the tide. And we expect the Marines to be there leading the way

In conclusion, we leave you with one more quote from General Powell:
"Surround yourself with people who take their work seriously, but not themselves, those who work hard and play hard."

Let's remember that we're doing this for fun. We want to win and we should bend our backs and minds to achieving our goals. But we should not become the enemy in order to do so. Have respect for yourself and the Corps and don't stoop to the level of our opponents' juvenile media trolling. When you are gnashing your teeth, take a deep breath and focus that energy toward something productive.

All Marines should leave a comment confirming that you have read and understood this briefing. If you have questions, PM your CO or LT. Do not leave questions in the comments of this article.

Finally, we would like to congratulate the newest officer in the Marine Corps. Lieutenant Princesspink is now heading up Charlie 1. We know she'll do an outstanding job and set an example for her new recruits.

And just another reminder that we are continuing our recruitment efforts. If you know of an active player interested in joining us, direct them to Col. Eugene Harlot, Recruitment Officer.
