Introduction to Libertad
El Kuervo
Without a long prologue, I will instruct anyone who cares to read this to the new branch of the Libertad military unit in Cuba.
1. What is Libertad?
Freedom in Spanish. An album by Velvet Revolver. Also a military unit, created in eGreece a long etime ago by a bunch of people, with the same goals and ideals. It's purpose was to fight for small countries under foreign occupation that could not liberate themselves, Libertad was not a national MU, it was an INTERnational MU. In it's majority it was mainly a far left oriented MU but accepted anyone open minded enough to adopt their ways, and it was not dogmatic about ideology differences. It did not participate in national campaigns, it fought for everyone under oppression who contacted them for help and sometimes provided supplies, but eventually Libertad would fight for it's country and her allies if their goals converged. During it's Glory days Libertad spawned a number of issues around the eworld. I won't speak about it's decline and fall in Greece. These are some of the few remaining Libertad's around the eWorl😛
Libertad - Ireland
Libertad - USA
Libertad - Bosnia and Herzegovina
2. What is Libertad seeking in Cuba?
A home. A fresh start in the Caribbean. Cuba means a lot as a symbol because of her history. Libertad seeks to create a new strong military unit here, where political feuds do not exist (except the language problem). We accept everyone who wants to play the game in a different way and believes in our cause to come and join us. Above all we want to have fun, it's a game-mirror-of-society but it's a game nonetheless.
3. How does Libertad fight?
We always hit collectively. Before joining a battle we reach an understanding about the details through the chat system.
4. What are the policies of Libertad?
Libertad belongs to her members, each and every one is equal inside the unit. Libertad doesn't have authority, it has leadership and organization. ABOUT THE LANGUAGE THING: Until now we spoke in our native Greek, we adopt English, because it's the easiest and most wide-spread. Other languages are not forbidden (In fact I have made some efforts to learn Spanish but my skills stop at: ''Yo como pescado'') and most of us know only the classic: ''Hasta la victoria siempre'' and '' Viva la Revolucion''. We accept anyone who can bring his/her native language in but we are sorry if we don't get a thing... We also adopt the system Produce - Consume, with smaller players working for tanks that send them supplies when they need them, so it all works in a circle.

Since we are a military unit that believes in freedom we do not force anyone to wear our avatar obligingly. However if you don't mind wearing a TyL avatar give me a pm with the url of your pic.

You are wrong in something: Libertad was NEVER politically oriented. This was only an assumption, mainly because of the way we were fighting.
- Proud ex member of Libertad INTERNATIONAL and Libertad CYP
You got one part of it wrong mate, the very first Libertads in Greece were set up by LSP and FAH members, both of left orientation. I don't know about Libertad CYP. Anyway I swiched that part to: '' In it's majority'' to keep everyone happy.
I'm talking about Libertad Main not Libertad CYP. Who were the members who created Libertad and what was their personal political orientation was irrelevant with Libertad itself. As far as i remember it was also mentioned ιn the memorandum and articles of association (let's say) of the MU. Your article and what you say about Libertad can not change my emotional world. It was just a clarification by an ex member, and as i see you are too young to know many things about that period and the specific unit. Except you are and old player.
It doesn't matter what I write, the thing that matters is the way you interpretate it. That's why I said, ''it was not dogmatic''. I had a previous account during the decline era, but I managed to live a bit of the old days.
If you feel annoyed by the article I'm sorry, but the crushing majority of Libertad members I've ever met in this game are lefties that doesn't mean that the unit itself as a whole organization is left, but in Greece 3/4 of the MUs have the typical ''GO, GO GREECE WE 'RE No1'' as their motto, between them and Libertad which one do you think would be a fitting choice for leftists in Greece at that era? Don't stay mad, it's just a game after all.
Neither disturbed nor mad! LOL it means really nothing to me.
As for your question: The only reason someone (at that days) decided to fight for Libertad was not any political orientation but of the purpose it served, who was "to help weak countries". No need to be leftist to differentiate justice from injustice
It's great to have an antiimperialist MU right here in Cuba. Good luck comrades
