First, let's try out some mood music.

I've been thinking about this one for a while, regardless of the USWP's article prompt. I mean, what person wouldn't like to be Country President, even just for a little bit? The thought is an entertaining one. And while I don't think I could do it for a whole month, a week seems relatively safe.

So, let's say that's me. President Aramec, standing at the vanguard of hope, peace, and the American way.


And motha. F*ckin. Apple pie.

First order of business would be to eliminate the UNITY system. I realize it's been said elsewhere, but it needs saying again and in different ways to get the thing to stick: it's time for it to go. The number one thing counting against it is that it's boring. I've been playing since January, and I have never felt invested in the Presidential elections. They've never meant anything to me. The parties choose, the vote is cast, and everyone discusses how lucky it is the AFA didn't win again, how Ajay or whoever he is didn't get the top spot.

It. Is boring. And it needs to stop. If players don't have a vested interest in politics, if they feel that nothing is on the line, then all that is bred is stagnation for those who are interested, and disinterest in those who might be.

So, that's gone.

Second point of order, I would work to develop a partnership with US-AIM. I understand that reasons they broke away, and I think it's great. Military needs teeth, and we put a ball-gag in ours. We've been resting on laurels for a long while now, and it is time for a partnership to develop between our war and our way. I say partnership here for a very specific reason: there would be no oversight of US-AIM from my limited, one week government. I would work with them to see what goals they want, what fights they want, and then match our foreign interests. Spurring interest is what this is all about, and if we have people actively involved and fighting, then we have active players. And that's worth the world.

Thirdly, I would invade the shit out of somewhere. And when I say invade the shit, I mean brutally make one country our eternal slave race for things like pogostick rides and really fancy drinks.


Think this, only with pie and pogosticks everywhere.

A vote would be mandated and hel😛 all parties and military units would vote internally on the one country they wished to see held under our eternal thrall. Once the internal votes were tallied, then the totals of all parties and MUs would be tallied. The Top 5 MUs and Parties would get two votes as theirs, with all other parties and MUs receiving just one to cast in. This would be the electoral college of invasions, and the point here is to cause strife, to cause a real questioning and interest among parties.

It's to give us something to do, something to conquer, and someone to clean our feet as we step out of our honeyed jacuzzi sipping on the tears of our slave race.


It's good to be the king.

By the end of the week, these things would be accomplished in one fashion or another, and I would turn over control. And here is my fourth and final point of order: I would turn over power to the AFA and the Ajay.


Wait, no, just, hear me out on this.

The reason: something to do. Seriously, I understand the track record the guy has. He's been more of a failure running for President than Ron Paul has. The party is on it's last legs as a whole. And once we had accomplished all of these glorious things which I have set out for us to do (and I am assuming that they will be accomplished, in the ideal future of which I dream), then it would give so much more meaning to these things if they were put in the hands of someone not trusted.

Every fairy tale needs a good villain after all.

In summation, I recognize that this isn't the best laid plan of mice or men. I recognize that. This isn't my platform to run on or whatever. But I do hope it is fodder for some ideas.

Firstly, that this country, while fun, is in stagnancy. It's just sort of... going. The Feds have certainly put the F in fun (among other things), and there are select groups I see as having been an entertaining investment of my time (WTP and the MUs, here's looking at you guys). But there's no real investment to be had except that which is self-made.

You all have such a big commitment to this, you players who have been around here for years. It's odd for me to think that I've even been playing this game for five months. I rarely devote myself to XBox, PC, or PS3 games for this long.

But here I am.

And that should say something. There's a willingness to start afresh, to get things really rolling. Whether it's by a national lottery to make another country our eternal slave wench, or handing over power to the one person we all despise just to see what happens, something's gotta give. We need an event.

We need interest.
