I would have gotten away with it too ...

Day 2,297, 02:10 Published in Australia Chile by Lupurus

... If it weren't for those meddling Admins. To be fair, I'm not entirely sure that it's their fault, because if I actually think about it, it makes perfect sense for it to be in place in order to protect hacked accounts, and really expensive typos.

I found out yesterday, while trying to organize a loan, that there is a 10 Gold per day limit, on how much a player may accept. In hindsight, I could probably have sold something silly for an even sillier price, but there's probably limits on that too.

If you recall ( or read back over my last post ) I mentioned that I had 33 Gold, and several options in what to do with it. My grand plan, was to borrow 35 Gold so that I could upgrade the Free Training Ground to Lvl 4, and the Climbing Centre to Lvl 2. Unfortunately that meant I needed 35 Gold in 1 day, which apparently is not possible.

Phoey.

So, I did the next best thing. I spent 11 gold Upgrading the Climbing Centre to Lvl 2, then spent o.38 gold on 10 Strength, and got another 30 from the Free Training Ground ( I left training till the last moment trying to maximise my gain, so I trained twice within 15 min of each other ) which got me my Super Soldier medal.

I also sold almost everything I had other than some food ( sorry donors 😛 ) and completed some last minute JDS tasks. This brought me back to 31.something Gold. Ideally, I eventually want nothing but Rubber Plantations, and whatever Food related whatsits I need to keep my Food Adequate. This way, when I eventually stop wasting energy on fighting, I maximise the efficiency of my energy used / resources gained.

Well, thats a fair while away. And, as Cyber.Casper pointed out in the comments, the Alloy Mine is the best for initial cost / output. I decided, that I will get no more than 6 of said mines, before I start getting nothing but Rubber Plantations. With my 31.something gold, I did the only thing that seemed reasonable at the time.

I bought 2 Aluminium Mines. With the 11 Gold left over, I upgraded my Food Factory to Lvl 2. Because it was cheap. And it seemed like a good idea to work on making sure I never have to buy food again ( long term saving and all that ).

So, I've made my purchases, and am now most definitely broke.

I've got enough bread to fill my energy twice, a bunch of energy bars from the Combat Stash, and 21 Bazookas.

I've got 0.58 Gold, and 5.32 eAUD.

I've got a Lvl 2 Food Factory, 3x Grain Farms, 2x Iron Mines, 2x Aluminium Mines.

I've got 285 Strength.

Now, to plan, for the next month, the next Combat Stash, and the next Discount.

Let's Math.

Lets say there are 25 Days left in the Month.

With the Free Training Centre I will get 375 Strength.

The daily Work / Train rewards will get me 45 Strength.

For no cost to Myself, at the begining of the next month I will have 705 Strength.

But, the next Super Soldier Medal is only 45 Strength away. At lvl 2, I get 5 strength for every 0.19 Gold.

To reach the 750 Strength Super Soldier medal it will cost me 1.71 Gold, as I will need to train 9 times.

So, to recap, From 2x Super Soldier medals, + 1x Hard Worker Medal - the cost for the 45 Strength, I will gain:

13.29 Gold. Nice. Very clean.

I also have extra income from the two Aluminium Mines. Assuming that things stay as they are, my daily income ( job + selling of raw materials - tax ) is about 51 eAUD. Over 25 days this is 1275 eAUD, in theory an easy 6 Gold.

This means on the 1st of April I should have Approximately 19 Gold.

However, to upgrade the Free Training Centre to Lvl 4, it will cost me 55 Gold ( with the Discount ). The Combat Stash will give me 50, so that means I only need 5 of that 19 Gold. So, with the 14 Gold I will do the Following.

I will buy a 10 Gold Fishery, ASAP. Not only will this allow me to have enough Raw Food Materials to run my Lvl 2 Food Factory every day, but fishing is awsome, and everyone should have a go ( just don't take any of mine, I've gotta eat stuff other than bread, you know ).

Also, since I've technically got nothing to spend the other 4 Gold on, I may as well Train. By training in the Climbing Centre for the whole period I will get 75 Strength closer to the next Super Soldier medal, for only 2.85 Gold.

So, on the 1st of April I should have a new Fishery, 3 shiny new medals, and ~7 Gold Waiting for the Combat Stash & Discounts.

Very little fuss, no chance of me spending gold on shiny things I don't have, as I will not be able to afford them.

Rule no. 1 of RTS games:

Keep your Income High, and your Bank Low.

This seems practically fool proof. It's a shame it's not fools I'm frightened of ...

Here's Hoping // wall'o text

p.s. i tried to be a little more concise, with less waffle in between. i think the shorter sentences are helping, but the layout still makes it seem a wee bit.. wallish..

p.p.p.s Also, I decided to do some extra math, purely out of curiosity.

For Every 250 Strength, you get 5 Gold.

Lvl 4 Free Training Ground + Daily Training / Work Rewards, is FREE 21.8 Strength Per Day

This means you hit 250 Strength in 11.467.. Days.

This prvides you wih a rough, FREE income of 0.436 Gold Per Day.

Lets add the Lvl 4 Climbing centre, giving you and aditional 10 Strength Per Day at a cost of 0.19 Gold Per Day.

This means you hit 250 Strength is 7.861.. Days.

This provides you with a rough income of 0.636 Gold Per Day.

Wait a minute.. for an investment of 0.19 Gold, we get 0.2 Gold, and faster increase in Strength ?

Noice.

I should point out that the other 2 training centres produce a Cost that is quite sizeable, and will never pay for themselves. If you have a huge bank you want to burn through, or actually have the income to support it, I would seriously not bother with either of them untill you have them at Lvl 4. It just seems waaay too wasteful.
