I'm Back

Day 2,328, 18:04 Published in Australia Chile by Springthief

I'm Springthief. I wasn't always Springthief though. I had an account many years ago, back in the eRep v1 days. But due to a constant PTO from our neighbours to the north and a (quite frankly) broken update to eRep v2, as well as home life pressures (a job that I was working at 6 days a week and a two year old child), I made the decision to leave the game that was taking more and more of my time. I had to say goodbye to a lot of friends, but I knew that at the time it was the right decision to make.

Fast forward 4-5 years.

I was bored. Bored with surfing the same web pages, bored with reading the same things on the same pages, day after day after day. But I knew that eRepublik was still there, still plugging along, still filled with eIndo multi accounts making e-life difficult for the hard working eAustralians. So, in a fit of apathy, I decided to create a new eCitizen, just to see what was going on in my beloved eCountry.

What I saw shocked me, but didn't surprise me too much. My country invaded. Just like when I left.

But, I must say that the move away from the v2 style was welcoming. The battlefield in that version was atrocious, and the fact that everything, or at least nearly everything, cost gold to do, was an large factor in my signing off for the last time. This new version at least looked nice, if nothing else. There were also some familiar names floating around in the political arena, and a few new ones as well.

I've been back for a month now, and it does feel like I've come home. Maybe to stay.
