Congress: A League of Gentlemen?

I've been barraged today by PMs asking for votes in the upcoming congressional elections, and I find that quite alright. Go for every vote you can by getting your name out.

My issue with this, is the people who say "Oh, and if you're so kind as to vote for me, I'll give you 25 Q6 TANKS and cover your moving cost."

I have no issue with covering moving expenses, it makes it easier on voters to vote for who they truly want in office, but 25 god damn Q6 tanks? That's straight bribery in my opinion. That's like saying "If you front me money for lunch, I'll buy you a Porsche after work." It's ridiculous, and destroys the purpose of an election. It becomes a battle of the bank accounts, rather than a battle for who can help our country the most. It's straight disgusting and I won't be a part of it.

I play the game, I fight everyday, I've even moved up to Captain of the 8th in EZCo. I've been a congressman, I served my country and hope to continue that if elected. I hope I'm good enough to earn your vote, but I will NEVER bribe people to vote for me.

My message to you all is see through all of these games and idiocy. Vote for who you think will do the country the most good, not who will give you the most stuff. Take the high road.

I think covering moving is stupid too. It's not dishonorable but still stupid.
How far can they be? Moving costs are chump change.

I am running for congress, and I won't pay for votes. I don't expect many congress candidates to do the same. I hope at some point this corruption stops.

when I started playing you were branded a dirtbag for selling votes. I don't vote for anyone that offers to pay me. If you can't get a vote without offering to pay for it you have no business winning.

I was appalled when I moved back to the eUS and found a steady stream of offers to pay for my vote in my inbox. I have never sold my vote and never will, often cannot decide whether to tell the messengers what I think of them or simply ignore them. I was elected CM 13 times in eBelgium and CP twice without ever buying a single vote, and when people did try paying for votes there, they were strongly disapproved by the community. Corruption is not inevitable Get a conscience!

Kishi deserves votes for this stand. There are so few people running that will take this approach.

Next month, someone needs to make a list of Congressman that refuse to pay for votes, so that people can see who is actually worth voting for.

I straight up say in my messages that I will NOT offer any bribe. It's simply not how I want to play this game. It's good to see so many who agree. We need more honest members of the community in politics. Both simply as a matter of national security (if someone will pay you for votes, you think they'd have any problem accepting bribes for citizenship?) and just to govern honestly.

Great to see others agreeing with me on this. I was feeling it sucked to run against people buying votes with bribes.

I do admit that I always offer to my friend to pay for their traveling cost when I ask them to come and vote for me on election day. But I end up never paying anyone because everybody always told me they didn't needed any money to move.

The party has dropped me because I've fallen too far behind in the election. Thanks to those of you who voted for me, but it looks like I won't take a seat in congress this year. :/

And to those who have turned down the bribes, I am proud of you. It's people like you who make the game survivable.
