Canadian Military Academy Commander Adress
Prinz von Panzer
Hello friends, fellow brothers in arms, oldfags and newfags. I wanted to report to the entire eCanadian community on the progress registered by our Military Academy, for it is pledged to Canada and the future of our country, not to any single individual. This is my first official address as Commander and I hope my successors will continue it.
Brothers in Arms Event
The Brothers in Arms tournament represented the perfect opportunity for us to show what we are made of, as I told the members of the Academy. They, in turn, fought their way to the 3rd position both in Division 1 and Division 2. I gave every member a full round of supplies at the beginning of the event and another one to those who showed the desire to fight most. The event also granted the Academy some much-needed funds which will be used for Combat Orders.
Officers
External Officers - Duty : Contacting and recruiting new citizens and pass them to the Internal Officer for guidance and supplies ; answering questions
Internal Officer - Duty : Sending supplies regularly ; answering questions
As the one with the largest storage space I am also filling the position of Internal Officer, dispatching supplies to those in need and staying in contact with as many as possible. Sadly, new players are rarely vocal and show real interest in the game on a large period of time. We've had some resignations from the past generation of Officers. I'm confident new leaders will rise from our own ranks in time, but if there are some bored "oldfags" out there with some time on their hands, we appreciate any kind of help. You only have to make yourself available for questions and such.
Dwindling numbers
From its peak of 50+ members, the Academy has suffered some resizing. Inactive members were let go and a few others left for other MUs. Again, I personally do not view the Canadian Military Academy as a Military Unit in the traditional way. It is just a stepping stone for new citizens that allows them to later join a MU, taking with them some real knowledge and experience of the game, including leadership. What I do not appreciate, however, is other "government" MUs contacting members of the Academy in order to recruit them.
Political involvement
As IBB pointed out a while ago, there have been talks of Kozak's political activity, as he is also the founder of the Academy. Voices were heard condemning the recruitment of new citizens in the ranks of the party. I will not avoid this subject, but rather try to explain the phenomenon. Kozak expressed his political intentions early on, and his original article for the MU was also backed at the time. As the Academy took shape, new members, faced with his guidance and leadership within the Academy also took to his political party with ease.
All of this seems far too convenient as the dying Prosperity Party was absorbed as of recent by his Conservative Party, but it was a matter of political survival. In a political environment where PTOs, confused debates, betrayals and overnight major changes are common, I can't see it as being a kind of sin. Also, the status of the Academy has been fuzzy at best and official backing (first days) was shy at best. At one point government jobs were offered but the Polish invasion changed that. I'm afraid to say I honestly have no idea how most of the political class views this project. With mistrust, probably. But I hope I can change that.
Ever since I became Commander I encouraged the members of the Academy to think for themselves and choose any party they desired, as supplies are conditioned only by wearing the uniform.
Donations and Apprentice Program
To end with, we appreciate any kind of donations, even making yourselves available as Mentor for new players. This is part of a new idea to better connect the new generation to the experienced soldiers. The "Mentor" will be assigned a maximum number of 3 beginners to advise and help in any way he/she so desires. This way we cut the middle man (me) and donations go straight to active, useful players. Also, better communication is established. This might have harmful ramifications such as increased political influence and such, but it is just an idea for now.
We also need help setting up a simple web page for new members of eCanada
😃
Until next time,
PVP, current Commander of the Canadian Military Academy
P.S. Since its V Day..

Dwindling numbers
"From its peak of 50+ members, the Academy has suffered some resizing....What I do not appreciate, however, is other "government" MUs contacting members of the Academy in order to recruit them."
I would assume that they think your Academy is a kind of adoption agency where the newbies are just hanging around waiting to be picked up by a real family.
Here is an idea. Why not get Congress (or whoever does this sort of thing) to make the CMA the primary Military Unit for new players in the welcoming message. That would help the dwindling numbers for sure. Why let the new players stumble around in other units when they could get straight to learning in the CMA, right?
I completely agree, but that would require some serious backing from other MUs and the MoE, plus a number of competent officers/mentors willing to help.
"that would require some serious backing from other MUs and the MoE, plus a number of competent officers/mentors"
I think this is the secret formula to making a successful academy. Without those components, you may as well fold the academy or accept that CMA is just one MU among all the others in eCanada and will not hold any special spot.
lol@ Hetalia at the ending 😛
Also, one of the biggest fears during the founding and the initial government support of the CMA was that anyone in charge of it would use it as a political base and abuse it. I haven't spoken to you much Prinz, and I'm not saying you are at all related to this, but Kozak's record in sketchy in this regard.
Looking strictly at numbers, there are 41 members of the CMA. 5 are Dead Citizens so lets take that number to 36.
Of those 36:
18 have no Political Affiliation (48.6😵
11 are in CPC (29.7😵
3 are in CPF (8.1😵
1 is in CCP (2.7😵
1 is in PFC (2.7😵
1 is in CPP (2.7😵
1 is in CSD (2.7😵
Just looking at the numbers, and based on nothing else, it would appear as thought that members of the CMA strongly favour the CPC. Are they being led there? Do they think it is simply the right party to be in? There are any number of reasons, but the point is, that this correlation is something that many people aren't overlooking, and if it continues I'm sure I won't be the only one bringing it up, and I'm sure other members of the eCanadian Community will do their best to do something about it.
is* sketchy
"Ever since I became Commander I encouraged the members of the Academy to think for themselves and choose any party they desired, as supplies are conditioned only by wearing the uniform."
I myself refused to join the CPC and stayed in the CPP for as long as I could so as not to send the wrong message to the new citizens. And as Kozak's voice was the first to guide them in the game and given his political involvement, why some of them (not most) joined the party can be explained.
In an ideal form of governing the Academy all members would be forbidden to be part of a political party, but that would take away the political module from them. Also, the "if no one backs us, we back ourselves politically" approach can gain the Academy some attention through political alliances and such.
If the community asks us to not have any political involvement in exchange for support (sending newbies to us, donations), I will gladly do it.
The CMA need only speak to the government if it needs additional support, it was originally founded with Government support, if you need more help speak to Utat, he is the MoE and this is technically his jurisdiction.
Also, there shouldn't be any political party backing, it should be backed by everyone.
Agreed, but just look through the comments and you'll see that reality is far from that.
The CMA wasn't founded with government support, it was supported by members of the Executive government.
It has received no money from the Treasury. Congress didn't vote on allowing the CMA to say that "All new citizens must join and graduate from the Academy before joining any other MU". Not only is this obviously not true, it was clear that this idea is not supported by Congress or the other MUs.
There is a difference between the Prime Minister cheering for Team Canada at a hockey game and Parliament voting to give Hockey Canada tax payer money to fund training and making hockey our official winter sport.
You are right Chochi, no money was given to the CMA from Government Coffers, but some members of the executive did help with some of the early money troubles.
As for that part, I asked that that specifically NOT be said to new eCanadians, clearly SOMEBODY went against that request and I would suggest PvP change that if he hasn't already.
When looking at the CMA and Canadian conservative party, it's troubling for a number of reasons. With 400 or so citizens that have joined this country in the last weeks it is troubling to see a party that has had 1 article in that time, and a MU with little to articles gain so many numbers, especially considering the leader of said party has a sketchy history. That is why people are concerned. I have contacted a number of these new citizens and almost none of them have responded, yet their damage continues to grow and almost all of them are first friended by Kozak, and are in his party. typically speaking this is the classic tell tale signs of a multi-farm for PTO purposes.
this is why people are curious and troubled by the party and this MU. otherwise everything is fine.
I can't exactly help overcome those fears but if that is the case then it can be brought to the Admin's attention or something. One man cant PTO a party, much less a country. And yes, those concerns are understandable.
I have had no contact from yourself
I didn't say every member haha. If you would like some help with anything, feel free to pm me.

By "leader with sketchy history", you mean to say Kozak's old account was banned for multies, right?
Coz yeah, that's exactly what happened
This MU has seemed to be a bit of a fluff so far, havn't seen much at all come out of it, I PM'd your members because I can offer superior training and supplies, I'm aiming for an organised company which can spread it's damage accordingly and promote activity.
IMO, y'all would all be better off moving over, we have space in our communes but I doubt you ever would.
What I do is not out of spite or for personal glory, but to train up the lower div's of eCanada.
Good luck o7
If that is true, Pat, then you should be commanding the Academy and not form one yourself. Why are we fragmenting our damage and people instead of organizing them better ?
Truth is I am a new player trying to help new players. My connections with influential players are little to none and the material support I can offer myself is limited at best. We both want to see the lower divisions of eCanada doing better.
I could just disband the Academy and not show any interest in its future, keeping what I have left of the donations. Yet I am still here, trying to make something out of it.
That's respectable, I blame Kozak Bohun for it's bad start, if you can make something from it then good on you, in answer to the academy I don't and never have believed in it, I think new players are much better off in a field of experienced players to learn and make friends.
When I look at some of the players that joined CoH from the academy, I fitted them with a personalised avatar - that gives them individuality over the generic 'noobie' encouraged them to talk, included them in PM's and I have seen them interact back. It's that sort of thing that new players need, not to be herded into a pen with other sheep - I see that as a downward spiral. If I were you I would use the donations and focus on sending the players out after a few weeks of teaching the basics but idk - if you can turn the MU into something good I will take back everything I say, I wish you luck, it ain't easy o7
I revived no message from yourself
Didn't send it to everyone 😛
