Canadian Military Academy Commander Adress

Day 2,278, 14:59 Published in Canada Pakistan by Prinz von Panzer

Hello friends, fellow brothers in arms, oldfags and newfags. I wanted to report to the entire eCanadian community on the progress registered by our Military Academy, for it is pledged to Canada and the future of our country, not to any single individual. This is my first official address as Commander and I hope my successors will continue it.

Brothers in Arms Event

The Brothers in Arms tournament represented the perfect opportunity for us to show what we are made of, as I told the members of the Academy. They, in turn, fought their way to the 3rd position both in Division 1 and Division 2. I gave every member a full round of supplies at the beginning of the event and another one to those who showed the desire to fight most. The event also granted the Academy some much-needed funds which will be used for Combat Orders.

Officers

External Officers - Duty : Contacting and recruiting new citizens and pass them to the Internal Officer for guidance and supplies ; answering questions

Internal Officer - Duty : Sending supplies regularly ; answering questions

As the one with the largest storage space I am also filling the position of Internal Officer, dispatching supplies to those in need and staying in contact with as many as possible. Sadly, new players are rarely vocal and show real interest in the game on a large period of time. We've had some resignations from the past generation of Officers. I'm confident new leaders will rise from our own ranks in time, but if there are some bored "oldfags" out there with some time on their hands, we appreciate any kind of help. You only have to make yourself available for questions and such.

Dwindling numbers

From its peak of 50+ members, the Academy has suffered some resizing. Inactive members were let go and a few others left for other MUs. Again, I personally do not view the Canadian Military Academy as a Military Unit in the traditional way. It is just a stepping stone for new citizens that allows them to later join a MU, taking with them some real knowledge and experience of the game, including leadership. What I do not appreciate, however, is other "government" MUs contacting members of the Academy in order to recruit them.

Political involvement

As IBB pointed out a while ago, there have been talks of Kozak's political activity, as he is also the founder of the Academy. Voices were heard condemning the recruitment of new citizens in the ranks of the party. I will not avoid this subject, but rather try to explain the phenomenon. Kozak expressed his political intentions early on, and his original article for the MU was also backed at the time. As the Academy took shape, new members, faced with his guidance and leadership within the Academy also took to his political party with ease.

All of this seems far too convenient as the dying Prosperity Party was absorbed as of recent by his Conservative Party, but it was a matter of political survival. In a political environment where PTOs, confused debates, betrayals and overnight major changes are common, I can't see it as being a kind of sin. Also, the status of the Academy has been fuzzy at best and official backing (first days) was shy at best. At one point government jobs were offered but the Polish invasion changed that. I'm afraid to say I honestly have no idea how most of the political class views this project. With mistrust, probably. But I hope I can change that.

Ever since I became Commander I encouraged the members of the Academy to think for themselves and choose any party they desired, as supplies are conditioned only by wearing the uniform.

Donations and Apprentice Program

To end with, we appreciate any kind of donations, even making yourselves available as Mentor for new players. This is part of a new idea to better connect the new generation to the experienced soldiers. The "Mentor" will be assigned a maximum number of 3 beginners to advise and help in any way he/she so desires. This way we cut the middle man (me) and donations go straight to active, useful players. Also, better communication is established. This might have harmful ramifications such as increased political influence and such, but it is just an idea for now.
We also need help setting up a simple web page for new members of eCanada 😃

Until next time,

PVP, current Commander of the Canadian Military Academy

P.S. Since its V Day..
