[WeThePeople] Hale into Kongress?

Day 2,741, 15:42 Published in USA USA by Hale26

I’ve been here for sometime and done a few things. Party President (x7), Vice Party President, Chief of Staff, Communications Director…you name it, I’ve probably been there. I have also had the pleasure of working with people from near every angle of our eCommunity, both in Congress and the Executive.

It’s safe to say I’ve had a few opinions, too. Most of which I’ve been able to act on. A great deal of which affecting Congressmen and the players they should represent. I know what campaigns and whipping people into action look like.

Unfortunately, it would seem that our community has forgot as much. The WTP cacaus no longer sees the need to post articles, explicating their positions for the party - a vital function as WeThePeople is a no-partyline-party. You get what you vote for here and if you don’t tell people what you’re offering them, there’s a fair bit of dysfunction.

At that too, we see some don’t even shout. Most don’t message. None post updates. None ask for discussion. The game is get the badge, post on the boards, rinse and repeat.

That can be well and fine. But, that’s not WeThePeople. We are a party that prides itself on inclusion, respect and activity - not primaries for the sake of them, or congressmen who meta but see no reason to ingame, or congressmen who don’t try to earn your vote.

My opinion is clear - I disagree with this apathy the party has fallen into. And if you could bare the thought, I would like to fight this apathy as your Congressman for the month of June.

My platform;

#1 I will take on two young WeThePeoplers and teach them how to “public service”. They will be expected to help connect with players throughout the game, both WTP and not. All while learning a thing or two about how to campaign.

#2 I will foster discussion in-party through weekly updates and at least 1 discussion/poll on an issue affecting our playerbase. WTP needs to get the base involved again - if congressmen could do this, that would be a great help.

#3 I will participate in as many votes, signins and on-forum business as humanly possible. While we need more ingame action here forum action is important nonetheless.

#4 Any gold, donations, endorsements or other finances that find their way to me through my campaign will be put back into the Community. Why? Because it’s more fun that way.

I’d appreciate your support;

Expect more from me on, or possibly before, Election Day.

Thank you and please vote

HALE26 FOR CONGRESS

[Hale4PP] Bringin’ it Back.

Note: Real life time constraints kept this article from going out a bit earlier than I would’ve liked. Neverless, here we are-

WeThePeople,

A little while ago I wrote about activity, inclusion and respect - the founding principles of our WTP community. I’d be preaching to the choir if I said the community may have lost sight of those ideals. So I did more than write - I ran for Kongress to challenge the Community, and myself, to remember. I’m glad to say your support allowed me to be #3 on our list after my first run in…well, months.

I’m glad to say that my campaign was part of a larger ripple effect we saw in the party this month.

 Overall, we…

Elected 10 Congressmen .

Had 125 members (75😵 of our party turned out to vote. Ten percent increase from last month.

AN😨 Sent forward the largest delegation we’ve had in a year.

I need to thank everyone who participated in the primaries. I need to thank my fellow candidates, both elected and otherwise, for putting your name forward to represent the Party of respect and inclusion. And of course, I need to thank everyone in the party who came forward on the 25th and put their faith in our Party once again.

So yes, we did good, People. But make no mistake - everything, especially our low-tier browser game, is cyclical. We all know it takes effort to hold onto your gains, let alone have more. I see it all the time in this “real life” we talk about - I work with talented individuals in the operation of grass roots organizations; failure is a real threat and it’s hard to rationalize. As a founding member of We The People, a lot of how we do things is based on my own experience as an inclusive leader who makes things happen, usually in spite of that reality I face “irl”.

The plan was: Be relentless and bold because you deserve to be here.

Our community used to embody that phrase. Think about it. We are a party like no other in our work to be inclusive, fair, measured and results-oriented. We knew we were up against “old-school politics” back in the day yet we held onto our belief that we deserved to be here. Our success is testament to the fact that, despite coming last in the Kongress elections, we proudly count the fmr Chief of Staff, the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Education among our ranks.

As our community has failed to produce time for running the party I worried we lost our boldness, our confidence and our sense of unity. If leadership was a reflection of community, we would honestly we getting less than a hundred votes the way things have been in the past while.

So I’ll be honest - I’m content with how we did 2 weeks ago. But I’m sure not proud of how we did. What I’m REALLY proud of is that 3 out of 4 of you are equally , IF NOT MORE, dissapointed about this year, so you got up and did something about it.

This party doesn’t give up and it needs a leadership that portrays as much. I’ve reached out to a few in the community, brough some names from my day back into the fray and after much consultation I’ve decided to throw my name in the ring for Party President of We The People, June - July.

 I’m a 6 time Party President, self-admitted Partisan, one of WTP’s founders and a bunch of other stuff you really don’t and shouldn’t care about. I don’t need to take this risk in a 3 man fight for the PPship. I don’t need to write about my plans or fire us up. But I believe in what's happening this cycle and I want to build on it - so I'm doing what a lot of us seem to be doing now; Taking chances.

Tomorrow our Nominations open. On the day of, I'll explain my vision. And shortly after that, the rest is in your hands.

Thank you,

Hale26

Your Party President Hopeful.

PS: Don't think I've forgotten about my Kongress commitment - Can't spend time saying what you're going to do if you're not going to do it, rite? I just needed an article to write my thoughts in. Kongress update coming shortly.
