Day 2,323, 23:03 Published in USA USA by Tyler Bubblar

Holy F*ing S#*t!!! It's been an interesting 24 hours. Pfeiffer announces he's in the race. Gnilraps announces he's seeking reelection after all. Pfeiffer drops out of the race. Got all that? I've spent the day pondering a course of action. If I had known Gnil was seeking reelection I wouldn't have declared my candidacy. From an outside point of view much has gone well this month. With that in mind I spent the day thinking. I've come to a decision.

I genuinely feel I have something to offer this nation. As I said this evening on FedRadio, I'm a task oriented person. I see something needs doing and I get it done. It has been nearly a year since I made my return to eRepublik, and during that time I've accomplished more than I ever would have believed. I attribute much of my achievements to the community I was so warmly welcomed into.

I have said this before, and I'll say it again: eRepublik is a really awful game. It's dull, slow moving and requires infinite patience a credit card to get ahead economically/strength wise. It's the community we've built around the frayed backdrop of eRepublik that really makes this game mean something. It's the community that causes us to form emotional attachments to our MUs, our parties, and our nation. Otherwise no one would care if this merger with USAF goes well. No one would care if a rogue Party President runs a slate of Serbs for Congress. No one would care about who the next CP is.

These things matter deeply to many, including myself. It's why I have asked Molly Emma and Malarkey83 to head up Interior and Education. They aren't political appointees. I'm a Fed, Molly likely won't bring me a single extra vote from within my party, but she'll be amazing at the task she's agreed to take on. Malarkey is in the AMP a Party that I strongly suspect burns me in effigy during a semi weekly ritual. However, from his work in the Fed FBI, IES, and diverse other jobs I know that he will do the work of his Department no ifs, ands, or buts. It is my intention to get these two the finest deputies I can find and every support in conducting their Departments.

The USAF is a community. They provide direct damage as requested by the President. This is their purpose, and their reason for existence. However, they are also a community. One that rarely gets attention except when something is done wrong or when how much funding they get is argued over around budget time. In the last several months we've dissolved and merged branches. In an effort to take advantage of new game mechanics USAF is to become one large Super MU. This will be a tough time of transition for our armed forces. I also see it as an opportunity. We are starting fresh.

Last month I proposed the creation of a USAF PR staff if you will. Charged with the publishing of regular media with the intent to shine a light on the successes and missions of the USAF. They would also regularly publish articles touting the virtues and benefits of Flight Training in order to attract newblets to its ranks. Folding newbs into the meta game of USAF can only help with retention. This group will also design and host contests, competitions, and other forum based activities to help our newly created Mega MU gel, bond, and become a cohesive unit. I asked DMJ to be SecDef because I know he's more than capable of guiding the DoD through this process.

At the close of my announcement article I said the iron is hot. The time is now, etc. What I was and am now trying to say is this: after a long summer of wipe and attrition we were on the brink of becoming a once strong nation that no longer really mattered in the geopolitical/military landscape of eRepublik. A string of excellent Presidents first pulled us back from the brink, and then slowly, carefully, and patiently put us into a competitive alliance, full bonuses, and a prime position in what is at present the winning team. Now is the time to revitalize our community by integrating new players who log in and find an eUSA on top of the country power charts, full bonuses, and an Armed Forces ready to welcome and fold them in with open arms. We allowed so much to wither on the vine eNPR is a good example of that. Let's start bringing back the things we one by one reluctantly let go of. There's no better time than now. I strongly believe that I can help accelerate the healing and growing of the meta. That is why I will stay in this race. I thank you for taking the time to read my wall of text.

In closing I'd like to thank Aramec for appearing with me on FedRadio it wasn't a debate, but it was a lot of fun, and it's worth checking out. If you didn't click on the link above for FedRadio try here.
