Welcome to another edition of smeekileaks.

As you all know, Tuesday we will have the return of the Epic Warfare tournament. As I wrote in my previous article, I consider this event to be the greatest event of them all. It truly is fun! You get a huge energy recovery for a week, so basically everybody gets the chance to be a "tank" for one week.

The Epic Warfare tournament can be explained as follows:

1) it is a normal weekly challenge except that you can get huge energy recovery rewards.
2) in Epic Battles you get 3x PP per hit instead of one, so you can quickly increase your weekly PP total.

Basically, analyzing this tournament is difficult because you have some variables, i.e. how many battles will become epic? and how many of my total fights will be in those epic battles? We can analyze a couple of scenarios, however in all scenarios let's take a worse case approach. What I mean is we will estimate that very few of our fights are in epic battles so we will not get x3 PP for those fights.

Scenario #1 - Treat this as a regular weekly challenge

In a regular weekly challenge, I usually can do 5000 to 7000 PP with my food fights. Let's estimate that with the added energy recovery this week and with a few of my fights in Epic battles I will definitely achieve 10,000pp and I'll probably even reach 12,500pp. Of course if there are many epic battles you can reach a lot higher in total PP!

I'll finish the week at minimum +120 recovery per 6 minutes and in total I'll win +90 energy bars at 12,500 PP but I won't have that much fun.

Scenario #2 - Treat this as a light tanking challenge

In this scenario I'll do my food fights on the first day like I usually would, but once I see an Epic Battle I will go and drop 200 single bars so that I can get 6000PP from them very quickly. With the addition of my normal FF I will reach minimum 7500PP on my first day which is +90 energy recovery per 6 minutes. Now with all this extra energy recovery I can gain PP's very quickly for the rest of the week! This is very important, getting to a high recovery very quickly!

Of course instead of 200 bars you can burn 300 bars, or 400 bars, it's up to you. Personally my plan is minimum 200 bars so that I can reach a high energy recovery very, very quickly.

Now let's say that for the other 6 days in total only 20% of my fights will go to epic battles to earn x 3 pp. I will finish at about 35,000 PP and will have gotten a minimum as a reward 390 single bars back, so I made +190 bars. Also, with the +220 recovery I have I will earn extra gold from FF medals, mercenary medals, TP, BH, etc and my rank will grow quickly! Of course if there are many epic battles you can reach a lot higher in total PP!

I'll finish the week at minimum +220 recovery per 6 minutes and in total I'll win +190 energy bars but I'll have a lot of fun.

Scenario #3 - All in

Does this scenario really need an explanation?

Of course this scenario would be the most fun, but unless there are very important battles I don't foresee me burning every last gold and energy bar I have in my storage.

With this scenario I can finish the week at +320 recovery per 6 minutes but I'll have a lot fun.

After reviewing the above, I'll definitely tank in the first day. As long as I spend a reasonable amount (200-300-400 bars) and not something crazy (1000 bars) I'll get them back guaranteed, so I have nothing to lose and I'll have fun!. If there are many epic battles I can finish the week with 400-500-600-700 extra energy bars - who knows? Last year I finished with 800 bars.

Yes, I said 800 bars.

Many people will say "but I can't afford it, food and weapons are so expensive right now!". Let me remind you that you do not need Q7 weapons to fight, you can fight barehanded, you only need food!

Also, you can fight with lower quality weapons if you want, for example Q4 weapons give 80% weapon bonus, are 0.24cc and have a durability of 4 hits, so for each hit it is 0.06cc. If you do 10,000 hits you will fight the whole week with 80% weapon bonus and only pay 600cc. I'm sure everybody can afford that!

In conclusion, fight hard, burn some energy bars and have fun!

Until next time,
